I was thinking about using Sin City or Vegas next year on a commercial cow.  She is on the small side, TH free has alot of power and bone, I just want something to pretty her up and add a little size.  I have been around a handful of Sin City calves, overall I thought they were a little tall certainly had a nice look and hair. As for Vegas, I haven't seen near as many, but I think they feed out pretty well and may be a little more stout, but I have seen some that have a good deal of turnout. We were kind of breeding her for a heifer.  I am not set on either one, so if anyone else can think of a shorty bull that can work, let me know.

Vegas is a THC Sin City is clean. My experience with Sin City is to use on smaller framed cattle that need some size. Duis Farms sale had some Vegas cattle in them. Look at their catalog on line. If TH doesn't bother you I would try Vegas. If you want to stay clean then go Sin City. I had larger bw's with him. From what I understand he is kind of all over the board.

If the THC doesn't bother you, then hands down Vegas is the better bull.  We've had really good luck with him.

We flushed to Vegas and got 5 really nice females, very happy with the results, the only fault would be they just don't have quite enough guts.  We used Sin city one year and didn't like any of the calves, plain calves with not enough grow to them.  Just our experience.

We used Sin City on one of our smaller framed cows. He added some bone, frame, and lots of hair to her, really pretty steer. I'd use him again. The only thing is, he does have a little too much frame. He was a little bit heavy as far as birthweight goes, too.

Not meaning to hijack the thread ;D, but has anyone got any Sull Sinister(Sin City son) calves coming? He's a Jan.'07 bull so I didn't think there would be any out there yet, but I liked the looks of him & I sure liked his momma.

ATOZ, I wish I could have met you at the Duis sale. We sold two calves there and I was around that country for fourteen days. I did get to meet Justin Olsen, I only hope that he will not only think of me as the wash rack drill sargent ;). If any of you all are in Loisville come by the Fischer stalls and say hello. And, so that I am not a highjacker, I may lean to Vegas if the TH will work with your prgram.
