disclaimer. i have a sooner daughter out of an ali x angus.
however one should be aware of what they are dealing with in pedigree. i am not saying there aren't exceptions, only that there are too many no milk animals in sooner's pedigree compared to most. it may or may not be a good thing or bad, just saying by pedigree, there is some milk weakness.

on the other hand, the cow of whom as far as i know there is not one single picture, or one that is allowed in print.
http://maine-anjou.org/pagedisplay.php?id=172596 who has some unknown animals.
from what i remember, that cow was the first maine dmcc purchased and never "missed" with her.
if people were a little more creative, they could attempt to make things like this. or perhaps she was made with what was invisible.
to me, that cow was perhaps lucky to be made from PHA carrier lines and was free. i think people should try it again, but not from crossed up composites, but again through dalton crossed on bysantin, but hey, that's probably too much work. add in paramount a little black gold and midas and you have draft pick. to me, the cow was a way to get the carrier look without being a carrier, ie spring of rib in females, but also some stagginess probably with being a carrier. my thought is they can be decoupled. again, too much work for anyone. you would need about 5 years to do it with a whole bunch of culls, which means even less people will try it.
but hey, it's all about proving sooner has plenty of milk and throws it consistently right?
