Alright I've been debating this for a little over five months and now that the cow has had her first calf I can tell a little bit better what to breed to but still unsure. If you dont like either choice vote other and list what bull you think would work. The cow in question is sired by Hannibal , her dam is sired by Icehouse(Iceman) and goes back to DJ Caesar. the cow is 37.5% maine. The cow is long bodied, not super deep, straight lined, pretty thick, hairy, not as big boned as I'd like, not very feminine fronted, not long necked either, but very clubby. Wanting to produce steers, but these blood lines throw absolutely almost nothing but heifers.  All and any input and opinions are appreciated. Heres a link to the cows ped. http://www.maine-anjou.org/pagedisplay.php?id=316536 Also heres a pic of her first calf by dirty harry.  Also cow is TH and PHA free by ped. Thanks!!

I have a few cows that sound like your discription. I would go with sunseeker. We had two awsome steers out of him this year. They are large boned thick hariy and are awsome in the front end.

That is a very tough decision.  If your cow is moderatly framed to smaller framed I would go with the Sunseeker.  He tends to upsize them a little bit, and add lots of bone, but at the same time the cow has quite a bit of maine influence, which might click on monopoly.  That is one thing I look for in monopoly.  If you put monopoly on a simi /angus your most likely not going to get a great show steer, because it will be 3/4 simi/ang.  My suggestion would be look at the size of the cow, if she's small sunseeker.  If she's bigger and need to downsize a little bit, monopoly.

She is pretty small framed and needs some bone.

I'd say Sunseeker, but you say she needs a better front end.  All the Sunseeker calves that I've liked the last couple years were out of slick fronted cows.

I've seen some really good Sunseekers.  However, based on my limited knowledge & experience, I personally would not use him on that cow.  He's not going to help you if you need to add depth & although he can sire some clean fronts, he's not the best in that dept.  He reportedly can also make them pretty straight & after seeing that Dirty Hairy calf's pic, I think you might potentially get one too straight.  Also, based on what I saw... Get Serious added more depth, width/thickness, style, hair (lots & lots more hair) & soundness & just as much bone as Sunseeker did on the same cow.  IMHO, I'd be looking at something else for your cow besides Sunseeker.  Monopoly is probably the better choice for your cow, but I'd look hard at  Smooth Sailing, Naughty Pine, Milkman, & Bojo or Houston (if you don't mind experimenting)... those would be on my short list for a cow like that.

Sounds like a job for Monopoly to me.  Haven't actually seen him used on a Hannibal, but I'd think it'd work.

???  Monopoly (at least the Monopoly I'm pretty sure we're talkin about here) is a Heatwave out of an Angus cow... There's a little of a whole lot of stuff in there - MA, Chi, Shorthorn, Angus - but no Simmi that I know of...

(edited to add)
Sorry if that sounded snippy, didn't mean it that way.  Is there a Simmi bull called Monopoly?

I would not go with Sunseeker. I know you said your cow is a little smaller framed but Hannibal and Sunseeker are 2 of the biggest framed club calf bulls right now and I am afraid you will get very tall calves. I have never exactly liked the rear leg set on Sunseekers as a whole. Some are fine but as many Sunseeker calves there are out their I don't see too many winning outside of Iowa compared to how many were bred.

Sunseeker calves have their flaws. I have two this year. One is not very clean fronted and the other is too straight. I don't know what their dams are, but I think you have to watch what you breed him to closely.

Just saw a fresh newborn monopoly out of a dejavu cow.  and this heifer is stouter and thicker and hairy than the two heat wave heifers she had the last two years.  I didnt weigh her or tape but i bet she is 100 lbs.  born unassisted.
