Topline in steer

Hello all. I am looking for a little help. This is my son's second year showing steers so we are still learning. He has 2 calves, and we had a judge tell us that they were both great calves but to work on the topline of one of them. He suggested tying his head high for at least an hour a day. Is there anything else that we should be doing to help that? We still have about 4 months until his major show so we have a little time to work with. Thanks!
