I came back with two new things from Denver this year.  Both of which were kinda expensive  but worth every penny.  1st I asked my girlfriend to marry me on friday night then we ended up getting our favorite bull from Lakesides pin this year.  Here is a video of him.  He is a outcross to... well... just about everything.  His ADG was 4.0, RE/cwt was 1.4,  and I think shows that natural thickness and rib shape that alot of cattle could use more of.

Congratulations on both counts!!  You know you could have told me about both these achievements when we were waiting for the final decision in the bull show!!  Although, if you had I might have tried to talk her out of it!!  Ha, Ha!!  Best of luck in your life together!!

One more thing, Matt--perhaps you should expound on the attributes of your fiance at least as much as you have on the bull---just in case she reads this thread!!    You're a true cattlemen---announce your engagement and then talk about your new bull!!  Just remember, when you get married start a separate thread about how wonderful the wedding was, how beautiful the bride was, etc.  and don't even mention cattle.  Take it from me, these wonderful gals that put up with us cattle junkies don't like being lumped together with our other "Loves"!!  I predict she will remind you that you lumped your engagement announcement and your bull purchase together for a long, long time!!  On the other hand, if she is proud that you mentioned her together with your bull you definitely found the right one---don't ever let her go!!  Either way IMHO she's a keeper!!

Agreed...we all have one track minds!    Since you posted the picture of the bull......you really should post a picture of the ring.  (angel)

Congrats Matt and Katy.... GREAT NEWS!

Oh by the way Matt, I could not agree with Lynn more. Us guys have to learn to use our brains a little differently once we are married. Here is what my wife Chris wrote on Facebook this morning.....

" Whatever you give a woman, she will make it greater,
Give her sperm - she will make a baby,
Give her a house - she will make a home,
Give her groceries,- she will make a meal,
Give her a smile- she will give you her heart,
A woman will multiply and enlarge anything she is given.....
So if you decide to give her any crap... get ready to receive a ton of S--T!

I am wondering if this was a message specifically written for me?  Probably was, but I think it is a message that probably works for most men.

For anyone that knows Katy they will know how much she loves this.  When we first started talking about getting married she said forget the ring and buy me a donor cow.  She was sitting next to me when I posted this thread and she loved it.  Besides now it will be partially her bull.  I know just how lucky I am to have found a girl that is just as into, if not more into cattle as myself.
