Thanks for your comments I was a little nervous when I first bought her because I hadn't seen her, but i had a good friend tell me I would like her and she was worth the money and i have to say I agree with him! Im looking forward to having my sister-in-law show her and even more excited to picking matings for her!

Took this picture of her the other night after we got her washed up. Could still use a clip job but she will go to her first show this weekend. What do you think of her progression?

She may be have a tick to much cover for my liking but we have her on a diet and an exercise plan. Our county fair is the last week of June and we are shooting for that ideally, but depending on how she does this weekend will kind of determine if we haul her down to the Iowa State Fair or not.

Seen plenty of judges criticize one for being too fat, but never saw one actually drop her placing a notch or two for it.  Fat sells.

I've seen many a judge drop a heifer that looks overfat.  Especially purebred angus heifers.  They look fat when they're too fat.

I agree with you HiddenCreek that she could use a little exercise.  Probably hardly need to cut her feed, just get her moving more to harden her up a bit.  Likely she'll move better for you as well with more regular exercise.  Typically I kick my Angus breds out on pasture with the cows for a week or so between shows so they get some exercise.

She looks good. Good luck!

I didnt cut her feed real hard a couple pounds, but then added in a about a pound of winning fill back in. And your right we have been walking her for a couple miles a day now for the last week and a half and it is definately helping. The problem I have is that I work everyday and this spring was a killer for seeing the sunshine at home, but I would tie her up in the AM and kick her out in the PM and that was about it. So im sure it was more the lack of exercise than anything that got her that way.

I really like her.........and I'm not a big fan of Angus. Will you get her in any Summer Shows?

Well thank you for the complement AAOK. I was just talking to a buddy of mine today about the show we are taking her to this weekend and I was saying Im hoping the judge is more of a breeding cattle type vs a clubby guy and he told me he thought either type of judge would really like her because she is just a big broody type female. This weekend there should be some good Angus calves at the show I am going to so its kind of going to determine what I do with her. If she does fairly well I might take her down to the Iowa State Fair. If she doesnt do that well I may just kick her out into the pasture until the middle of July and pull her into the showbarn to get some hair growing for the Minnesota State Fair and World Beef Expo. The big problem is my sister in law who is still a junior that was showing her just had an MRI on her foot and found out that she needs to have surgery on the 18th, so it would just be open shows I would be able to take her to unless I put her into another juniors name.
