where can I give a shot

I am learning each and everyday about many different topics with cows and calves.  Where can you give a calf a shot of selenium? can you give it in the hip.  also if I remember right it can also be an intramuscular shot or a subcut.  Intramuscular works a little faster is that correct?

Don't give shots in the hip, it leaves a lesion in the muscle. Instead put it in the neck. As with all shots keep them in front of the shoulder. I would use subcutaneous.

Our selenium Selon-E says to give it intramuscular. The neck is the best area.
