I am just starting my own clubby herd and am looking for a heifer. Which ones make good mothers? I have been looking at Believe in Me, Walks Alone, My Turn, Sun Seeker, Hairy, and Time Saver. Could I get some info on them and how they produce. I grew up around cattle and my family has a cattle ranch in Utah so I know what I am looking for but need some calving and milking info. Thanks in advance.

From your list Time Saver is the best genetically. The 3-D x Hairietta combo is very underrated. Look at Dr.Who and WMW.

Ok what about Believe in Me saw a nice looking one but was unsure if they make good mothers. Do they milk good, and how good are they overall?

If you will Search for a proven maternal Cow, and stay far away from the "Clubies", you will come out light years ahead.

IMO, the first three on your list are for making show steers not momma cows. Most of them will not have the frame score needed to bred back to the clubby bulls being used today.

In your question it really comes down to which cow will make great terminal animals or which cow will give you a maternal product?
Some clubbies cows will make momma's. I think some folks forget Heat Seeker was half Shorthorn. From what I understand his mother was pretty good cow. I have had luck with Heat Seeker used on purebred cow of one breed or another. I have used him on Shorthorns and have liked the results as long as you don't get the ocassion schizo.  Who Made Who  mommas that are sound are prized as clubby machines. I just sold our WMW cow and she was 15 years old. She never had trouble calving or settling post AI. I would say there are exceptions to every rule.
If I were to build a maternal herd I could make steers or females. i would start with a purebred base and use clubby bulls on those females. You just roll the dice many times because you have three four breeds already in the sire that you may not get the consistency you want.
This is just my opinion and it ain't much.
