Have a 10 day old Angus X Charolais calf that is wobbly on his rear legs for about a minute after getting up.  Fell down this morning, made several wobbly steps and after about 100 feet seemed normal.

Easy birth.  Calf was up and vigorous at birth.    Nurses well.  Seems to be growing OK.

Have noticed this wobbly activity a couple of times in the morning when letting cows out to pasture.    He does separate himself from other animals and comes back to the barn and lot during the day to lay in the shade or around a hay ring.

Cow is 3 and purebred Angus.

Vitamine or mineral deficiency?

Not saying I had what you got but we had a couple wobble calves 3 years in a row. I was convinced it was a genetic defect. Then I finally noticed that I had one pasture with red bricks in them. Like house or chimney bricks. There were 4 bricks that the cattle had chewed them down about half gone. I removed the bricks and no wobble calves this year. I think there must have been arsenic or lead in the bricks that goofed the calves up while in gestation. It was kind of like a MS wobble or something.
