Dr. Scholl's wart remover works well on cattle. They take a while to fall off though so after they start getting loose, I go ahead and cut them off. If they're around the eyes, I'd recommend taking them to the vet. You wouldn't want to put medicine on or cut around their eyes.

Is he alone when he eats? We had one like that once and he wouldn't eat unless there was another one with him. When there was another steer with him, he'd finish all his food just so his buddy wouldn't get it.

Last year I had a heifer that was knocked down in placings because of her hair too. He said that it made her "uncomfortable" because it was about 100 degrees that day. A lot of judges don't seem to like the hairy ones. lol

I live in southeast Missouri. A lot of feedlot operators here buy locally, fatten them up, and ship them to West Plains in southwest Missouri because they sell a lot higher there (mostly the big steers). There aren't too many shows around here though.  (lol)

Interesting. A couple months ago on the news there was a story about some scientists that found how much food and what kind of food one eats has some influence on what sex the child is going to be. I wonder if the same is true for cattle. Our current commercial bull through all heifers...
