Check out the Clear Choice sale in Nebraska of Meysenburg/Ruth. They have 3 out of different cow pedigrees and all 3 are real good IMO.

Judge was Dan Hoge, Illinois. Division 1 Angus Steer, Schafer, Division 2 Placke, Division 3 Bremer, Division 4 Hoblyn a Monopoly, Division 5 Market Heifer Heim. Finals tomarrow. Division 4 should be champ IMO.

Very refreshing to hear a judge talk cattle like that and tell exactly what he was thinking.

If a seller believes an calfs price needs to be protected, you'll get ran up in an auction as well, IMO.

Thanks for the comments.  Every time we get a calf in the chute, Gavin(7) insists on helping with the clipping.  I  tie  a halter under the neck to make it safer for him.  It's good practice to get them comfortable with the clippers at a young age. Thanks for posting the picture Jamie. Tony

Would you expand on this please? How bout this scenario:  If you bred your heifer to a calving ease Angus bull first year and she is a show heifer that doesn't breed back 2nd year to AI so you have a later calf and come 3rd year you have to make the decision to hold her over or market a later...
