    Homemade "cool room" PICS

The picture shows the room when the calves are not in it. During the day when the calves are in there, we shut the back barn doors, and already have a tarp that hangs over the window on the outside.

    Homemade "cool room" PICS

You are spot on with that statement. We built the room and turned fans on via a seperate breaker, and on a 93 degree day the room stayed 76 with no AC. The fans are on a seperate braker than the AC and will run at all times. The AC runs on a breaker with nothing else on it but a radio. The radio...

    Homemade "cool room" PICS

It seems to be working pretty well. It basically runs the entire day (when the cales are in there) but i turn it up to like 75 and on energy saver cycle at night when nothing is in there.

    Homemade "cool room" PICS

Well, there have been several posts on here in the past asking about "homemade cool rooms", and I thought I would share ours. We just got it finished last week, and are still putting on some of the finishing touches. I am not a big believer in cranking coolers down to 40 degrees (but they do...

    Flies

Take a sprayer and mix 1/3 diesel fuel and 2/3 water, spray it on the walls and watch the flies die. You can also mix it a little weaker if you have dogs that like to lick your barn walls like we do  (lol)

    Show barn Fans

The Sullivan's Barn Fan is popular, but really did not hold up to our use. The Shaeffers are good fans, but the cages could use some more strength. We love our Hartkools, but good electric is a must to run more than one or two of them.

PLEASE check this out....Cattle people helping Cattle people

I just sent Janey an email donating some pretty cool prints to the cause. I sure hope this gets as much publicity as possible. What a great way to help a family in need. Let's all pull together and make this worth while for this family, and show them how helpful it is to have an "extended cattle...

    Slide Show of Our Calves

I like the idea of the slideshow. I would include some sort of catchy song in with it, just to spice it up a bit. Maybe make the slideshow the full length of a song, if people are listening to a good tune, they will be less likely to click off of it. Also, if you let the song play all the way...

    Stall Display Help

If you have them hemmed(sp?) on the top and the bottom, you can run a wire through both and the wire on the bottom will reduce blowing around.

    New site to me

I just checked out the site. It looks to be pretty cool. It includes some areas for all of the major show species, even has some goat sutff for FARWEST ;) I also saw this poem on there, and thought it might make for good reading on here... I Show..... ...and I am the definition of dedication...

CUSTOM EAR TAGS / KEY CHAINS

I just got some  key chain samples back from COOKSHOWCATTLE.COM, and they are flat awesome. I am going to be using some of their small ear tag key chains as promotional items for my photography and promotion business. These things are inexpensive and a great, unique way to advertise. Linda has...
