nice to see! i hope this doesnt hijack this thread, but it seems like there is a good bit of bull testing and data north for the shorties, is it being done down here in the states?  i know of several bull tests in my area, have even sent bulls to them(black maines), but have never seen...

nothin' dark about the shorty side!  i love mine and wouldnt trade them for anything!  very nice!  i love that heifer!!!  i wish i had known she was for sale, lol keep us posted on their progress

i had my first set of twins ever this year, both bull calves, out of a heifer!  one weighed 90lbs, the other 78lbs.  being a heifer, it was crazy, but she accepted both of them!!  we had to bottle both of them twice a day till her milk came in, but eventually they got to just taking one bottle ...

well, guess ive got a 96lber instead of a 88.5 lber...that 88.5 lbs looks alot better, but honesty is more important to me than looks, lol  great discussion and great points

i personally would never buy a calf from the sale barn...why is that calf there in the first place?  mother died giving birth? wouldnt accept the baby?  whatever the reason, you really have no idea whether or not the calf received colostrum w/in 6 hours of birth, which i believe is what is...
