He is freezing quality semen now.  <party>  If you want some the best way to get it is from either us or Mac Smith.  We also are shipping some out to Cattle Visions and Stepping stone should be getting some in a week or so.  It is available from all the distributors.

    Tractor go down the hole

This is a little off topic Yesterday and today we have been trying to get our toilets to work. We cleaned out the septic, what fun that was. Anyway.  We found 7 plastic wrappers that the newspaper comes in, a ball and a rubber bath toy, so one toilet now worked but the other was still...

    Question For P-F, Amazon Bull

I think he would be a solid 6 but I have not scored him I have always been told that semen has a 60 cycle, so if a bull is understress it takes 60 before that shows up in his semen. Anyway, the first week he was at stud he we collected 150 units high quality semen.  The following week he...

He is a frame 5.5, not sure what he will do for frame he may keep them the same, We had bought him to add a notch of frame to our smaller Angus cows, I would assume if they are frame 6.5 plus he may bring them down a 1/2 frame. On those purebreds you may want to watch his EPD's he is a -3 for...

We have about 15 babies on the ground. He puts a nice blaze on them! He is going to be an excellent choice for breeding clubby heifers and cows.  We turned him out on a group of Duff bred comm Angus females last year and they are nice real pretty, he just didn't add any bone or power to them...

Traveling through Iowa: ????? about stopping at Nichols & Hawkeye?

IF you stop at Hawkeye see if they still have the pens that when you move it from side to side the sperm floats to the cow. I got one back in 2002, It is still may favorite pen and quite a converstation piece. Its worth stopping their just to get the pen!

    Lets start cutting more bulls!

T  The Ohio cattleman's has them so brain washed that they have to be the highest numbered, these guys don't even look at the bulls.  EPD's are supposed to be used as a tool to assist in the selection of a bull not the bible.  Not everyone needs a bull that is maxed out for yearling and milk and...

    60/40

The IVF was actually done with reverse sorted semen.  Dream On, and New Look.  We have done a couple flushes with the 15mil sexed OCC Juneau,  you are just not going to get as many fertile as you would with unsexed semen.  I would est about half the eggs some people I have heard aren't getting...

    60/40

Our last calf was born yesterday and we are officially 60% heifers 40%bulls We can attribute the increased heifers to sexed ivf embryos and sexed semen on our heifers. this year we are using sexed Juneau and in dew time I have seen a few posts on the subject and I wouldn't say we are experts...
