Traveling through Iowa: ????? about stopping at Nichols & Hawkeye?

The family and I leave Tomarrow morning to Wisconsin for My Aunt's Funeral.  We will have some time as we travel so we plan on stopping at Hawkeye.  Is it worth it to run up to Nichols when were that close?  I believe Dr. Who and Salution are at Nichols, so I just answered my question.  Do you need an appointment for either place or can you just stop this time of year?

We are interested in checking out the clubby bulls as well as the Maternal sires, any suggestions of different bull favorites of others that we should check out?

RSC, MO, if I were only going to have time for one or the other, I would go throughNichol's. Ph # 515-965-5457. It's not 2 miles out of your way, depending on whether you're going N., or going S. Exits 92 or 93 east 1st rd going N or S depending. If you go to Nichols, please put your eyes on Invinsible & 3/4 SH Absolut of Streams. Ask if Absolut is freezing yet please. Jay  from J&S Simi. is who manages Nichols. Very nice person along with his wife.

(cow)rsc, i would personally visit lautner farms if i was in iowa, it's not often u get out on these trips with time always short and expensive gas.  i've personally talked with phil about leasing bulls and am sure he would be accomodating to you.  i would think he would have some at the place that would not be at the studs that they have a bank built up on. good luck n take pics

Dad always takes I-80 through Iowa when he heads to my Aunts.  If we go to Nichols, not sure if we will head back to 80 or head North aways from there.

IF you stop at Hawkeye see if they still have the pens that when you move it from side to side the sperm floats to the cow.

I got one back in 2002, It is still may favorite pen and quite a converstation piece.

Its worth stopping their just to get the pen!
