Any calf Reports on Last years Baby Bulls?

We have one Highlander thus far, came real small out of a PB shorthorn heifer, real hairy and blue roan.  Very sound and is growing llike a weed.  Have several more coming.  Talked with greg Kroupa the other nite and he has had some also and is very impressed with one inparticular.

Calving Ease: Is it all "bull"?

We just had 2 C-sections last night, both were bred to final answer and he is a proven calve easy.  But one was a Paddy Hfr, calf was 120, yes he is alive and well.  The other was an angusXcunia 602 and final answer, he was backwards and that did not help, but he would never have came out alive...

protein and its effect on birth weight....myth?

We have fed wet distillers to our bred cows and heifers the last 4-5 years and have seen no ncrease in BW  and our Pregnancy rate is less than 4% on 240 head.  The fat content can work in benefit, yes you do have to watch sulfur level.  Up here the plants we buy from are lower and we have it tested.

    protein tubs

You might want to look into lick tanks, they are usually 1/2 the price per ton and higher in protein.  Up here in north country they are used a lot with corn fields and such.  Doesn't seem to have a barring on birth weights.
