17th Annual Who's Your Daddy Shorthorn Bull & Female Sale

Should you not be selling Iron Man 4X and keeping Phantom 10F? My mentor has always said to keep a bull until he produces a better son, then sell him and keep the son!

    2020 Denver Bulls

He talks the talk but has walked the walk! I think we have all become too used to 'watering down' the facts. We are becoming like politicians. If you have a problem, voice your opinion, as long as you have data to back it up. I have been disappointed in XBAR's sledging of JIT in a public forum...

I really don't need the abuse but I am going to do it anyway

I bought the South African semen rights and 500 doses of Spry's All Gold D052 in about 2009. Although the BW's are fairly high, the calves come easily. I calve at 30 and 36 months only, due to the environment. He has been used extensively over heifers here. With that kind of growth there will...

    KL- Lauer Shorthorn Complete Dispersal

Dirt cheap, even in South African terms!

    tuli cattle

They are indigenous to Southern Africa and are fairly popular down here in South Africa, especially where conditions are tough for cattle. They were developed in Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, out of the native Sanga cattle. They are polled, mostly, which is an advantage. Colours range from...

    ARG Hector 1777

Anyone have any pictures of this bull? New to Semex South American cattle could have a place here where I am!

    KL- Lauer Shorthorn Complete Dispersal

His genetics even got to South Africa! Great influence, so much so that I swapped back a bull that had bred so exceptionally well for us. Still have some JSF Gauge 137W doses in the tank for future use. Easiest fleshing cattle I've ever had. Not too big either.

    Hill Haven Fire Storm 28C

I agree with Mark on this one! Hill Haven Bold 4X was a sire I would have used in a flash, Firestorm with his sire, maybe a bit reluctant! JMO

    Myostatin gene

Do the AI companies test for all of this? I have brought in numerous sires to South Africa from Semex over the last 15-20 years! None are listed for TH or PHA but one is a probable DS and they all have no tests listed for Myostatin. I am getting nervous here! Are they obliged to have the bulls...

Dr. Bert Moore on "Heritage Shorthorn's Impact On World Cattle Breeds"

There is no "other influence" on my property but I think DNA verifying my cattle has been a process that makes me carry on sleeping easily every night. I must profess that what I thought was a late AI calf turned out to be an early natural calf from the pick-up bull this year! My herd is now...

Our senior herd sires for 2019

The third picture really tells the story. The wean size is amazing! Superb bunch of x-bred heifers. Very even Shorthorn look, considering they have Charolais about them!
