    Old Hereford semen, any thoughts?

Road Runner is a son of Race.  Some liked him, a lot hated him. He was pretty good for taking milk out of em (1987 model) Big Foot is a calving ease son of Enforcer 107H out of a Vindicator daughter. (1981 model) Millervue bull is an outcross pedigree I don't know much about (1974 model)...

    First Calf Heifer Breeding Options

White Oak Precise is an Angus bull.  The ranch I was on used Precise on some donors a few years ago.  I put the embryos in last year and had fall calves.  They were the 2nd best set of calves, but I think they will have plenty of frame.  I do believe that White Oak Precise is a carrier and it...

    "especially for a Hereford"

JIT, I probably let that get to me a little too much.  That seems to be the only thing people can think about when it comes to a Hereford and truth is, they've probably not had much experience with Herefords in the last 20-30 yrs.  I have always respected your opinion and from your website I...

    "especially for a Hereford"

JIT, those are things that the Hereford breed used to have problems with.  They have worked hard to eliminate them.  I started work on a 1,000hd  commercial/registered Angus ranch in Jan 06. That spring I had 2 cows that prolapsed.  That fall when 400 hd of those black cows calved, I lost 6 hd...

    "especially for a Hereford"

If Herefords didn't have bone and hair they wouldn't survive and have the title of being rugged good mothering types.  No, they don't have hair that stands out 8", but they have thick tight curled hair that keeps moisture out and keeps em warm.  That's again what makes them survive.  They aren't...

    How big is your operation?

I personally only have 10 commercial black/black baldy cows, 5 horned and polled Hereford cows, 2 Horned Hereford bulls, 2 little heifer calves and 2 little bull calves.  I have no ground as it was part of my salary to have these cows when I managed the 1,000 hd commercial/registered Angus...

    Hey ITK !

LMAO!!  How funny!  My fiance' Mitch, Boat's cousin, has told some stories.  He's been running with Boat at Denver for a long time.  Overall, he's a heck of a  good guy!  We wouldn't trade him for the world.

    Polled Hereford bull calves

There's some old foundation blood in those cows.  Stuff I haven't seen in a while!!  We had a son of Bond 75A that was a good looking dude but his EPD's weren't very good.  He was heifer safe, but as an outsider looking at his pedigree, no way!  He also produced beautiful females.  Do you have...

    Hey ITK !

LOL, I went to Denver with Showboat for the first time a couple years ago.  What an experience!!!!  :o  Guess it wasn't too bad, I went back last year.  He and Becky are really good people and a hell of a lot of fun.  I used a couple of his South Devon bulls the last couple years on heifers...
