Best Angus bull to cross Sim with

These are two good options but I really like Net Worth females.  Not sure why you only classify him for steers.  They are wet, good uddered, and easy keeping.

Best Angus bull to cross Sim with

I've seen some real nice Sim-angus calves out of the Answer.  I've seen a bunch of Style baby calves too.  They look really cool!  He kind of reminds me of a more extended version of Northern Improvement.  He also appears to be calving ease. He was a pretty big boy so if you have some really big...

    Calf shelters

I know there are quite a few people on here who have a large number of cows.  We've been expanding our herd and with that expansion we need some more shelter for early born calves(January and February).  I'm located in Central Illinois so weather and wind can really be harsh(like right now for...

    One in a million

A couple years ago we had a cow calve two weeks early.  It was an AI sired calf.

    AI'ing Heifers

Thanks for the correction!  I can't say that I've tried breeding early or late.  With a full time job I can't watch them enough to know exactly when they started standing.  I do catch a couple a year right on the button.  Maybe I'll experiment a little.  Thanks again!

    Andis AGP Super 2-Speed Clippers

I've used the purple one and like them.  I kind of like how they fit in my hand better than the light speed clippers do.  BTW, I only use one speed.  High.

    AI'ing Heifers

Thank you Cowboy!  I bred a heifer over a month ago and had some problems getting through the cervix and there wasn't much tone.  I finally got it done and I just got the blood test back and she was bred.  It sounds like I was a little early but not too early. I will wait the next time I run...

    Calving 2011

I've officially entered the most exciting and nerve-wrecking time of the year.  Already had two calves.  One was a heifer by TC Aberdeen 759 and a bull by SAV Heavy Hitter.  The bull calf came early this morning.  I thought the cow was acting a little strange so I put her in the barn.  I got up...

    Angus bull "Pioneer"

It sounds like everyone likes the Pioneer calves well enough.  I haven't seen that many but I thought that they were kind of plain.  I saw them when they were younger so it could be a different story now as one poster stated.  Guess I should look at some that are a little more mature.

So you make jokes about your customers?  Sounds like a nice company to do business with!

    When do you worry??

I'm with Chambero on this.  Also if you only fed 1lb. of grain a day I doubt that made much difference in the size of the calf.  On a side note, I recently read an article about calving dystocia in females that were fed less to try and control BW.  It was an interesting article.  I'll see if I...

    "Good" Angus Bulls

I've got a couple of Aberdeen and Brilliance calves coming.  I figured Aberdeen to be a safe bet with heifers.  The ones I've seen haven't been super stout but kind of take the muscle shape of the cow.  I've been real impressed with the Brilliance calves that I've seen.  It would be kind of hard...

    "Good" Angus Bulls

There were a couple of things that I would change about style but forerib wasn't one of them.  I looked the bull over for a long time and if I could change something it would be to make him just a tick longer bodied and also make him a tick stronger in his rear pasterns.

    "Good" Angus Bulls

We used Freedom on heifers about four years ago.  Didn't have a single problem.  I think the weight comes with the extra length that they have.  That said....I think the heaviest freedom calf I had was 82 pounds.  I don't think that's asking too much from a heifer.  If they can't do that with a...

    College Degrees

I truly believe this depends on you.  I know plenty of people out there 20-35 that are doing very well for themselves with little or no college education.  some things these people have in common is that they all own their own business, they're very enterprising and they are very good with...

    "Good" Angus Bulls

I'll be able to tell you how Silveiras Style calves out in a couple of months.  He looked to have all of the qualities you were looking for.  Not sure how he will be on heifers.  His full brother(El Capitan) was used successfully on heifers.

    B.C. Marathon on Heifers?

I liked the good marathon calves too.  My problem was finding the consistency.  They were either really good or terrible.  I have one bred heifer out of him right now and I just love her!  Can't wait for her to calve.  The problem is that I had some 3/4 and 7/8 sibs to her and they sure didn't...

    B.C. Marathon on Heifers?

We've had some real big ones out of Marathon and I won't ever use on heifers if I ever use him again.  I don't mean any disrespect but there's a reason his BW epd is so high.  It's not just because of the cow that he gets bred to.

    Who 2

As far as seeing any for sale....they probably just call them WMW's.  I haven't seen many Heatwave(insert number 1- infinity) calves.

    EXG First Rate

Does anyone know where I might be able to find some semen on this bull?  I know that he died a while back.
