    Need help- grafting a calf

If you still have the afterbirth, we rubbed it on the new calf and tied a peice of it on the calf for a couple days and that worked for us one time. We lost a calf and went to a local dairy and bought a 5 day old bull calf and got the cow to accept it. DLZ

Bull or Not - didn't want to hijack Doc's thread

No bull, only 5 or 6 cows. Just do not have the room for a bull. Have leased a bull for insurance in the past as I was looking to move up my cows but have had  all of them catch AI on the first try last two years. DLZ

    RED

Adding my thoughts and prayers to the family. Red will now be running and dancing in the presence of her Lord, no longer having having to live within the limitations of her mortal body. I am sure she will be missed greatly be those who knew her personally as well as those who have gotten the...

To fudge or not to fudge, that is the question!

Just curious; those of you who say you cut everything over a certain weight, do you do it right then and there when you weigh them or mark them to be cut later? DLZ

    Showmanship

    1. work at home 2. work more at home 3. work another time at home. 4. did I say "work at home"? Seriously; showmanship is won or lost by how much work you put into yourself and your animal at home. Try to mimic what you will experience at a show. Work with other animals if possible. Practice...

    Feeding Cooked Corn

We bought one of those roasters with temp control. Started out with a one to one ratio corn to water. May need to fine tune it some as you go. Put in just enough to be absorbed by the corn but but make sure it is enough or the corn will burn. Steer loved it. DLZ

give us some triva about yourself

My wife is 10 years younger than I am. We got married when she was 22 and I was 32 so no big deal but if you think about it. When I was 15 and taking drivers training, she was still in kindergarten. When you at that it just seems strange. Still going strong after 22 years <party> DLZ

My mother-in-law pasted away Saturday morning due to complications from some fairly routine surgry. It was totally unexpected and very sudden. Please keep our family in your prayers. My wife and I both have the hope for the future that comes from faith in Christ as our Saviour. Several of my...
