What is her pedigree? And do you want to stay simangus, PB sim, PB angus for bull choices?

    1/2 blood simmy calf

Thanks man! You said from the start she would be pretty good by fall.

    1/2 blood simmy calf

By far the best calf I had this spring. I'm letting her go in the "Sending You To The Backdrop" sale Oct 5th on Caldwell/Willoughby. Poor Gargan has seen a million pictures of this calf, but thought everyone else would like to see her.

    ET pregnancy rates

50% here on fresh implants. Next year I will hopefully have a larger group synced up.

    asphalt grindings

Is concrete an option? I ask only because nothing else will ever work like it.

    asphalt grindings

We use it on our farm driveways, lay it down in thin layers and use a vibrating roller and packnit down. It makes a pretty good roadway, almost like chip and tar. But I'm not sure I'd want it in a feed lot. Usually lots of fine chips are left on top. I'd imagine in the winter those fine chips...

    Black Ice Maine bull

It seems to be averaging 100, but looks like 138-140 within the last year. Let me know if you are interested in selling any.

    Implant for frame growth

Bovine Somatotrophin. It was a hormone used to increase milk production. What we found was when given to heifers it really increased appetite which in return increased frame size. Wo knows what it would do to beef cattle. It also helped a lot if farmers go under I think. As the call for none...

    Implant for frame growth

BST WILL add frame size to dairy heifers, I know for a fact. Not sure what it would do for beef, but I could imagine it would do the same.

Opinions on what to breed to this Foundation Simmi

Being she is a heifer I'd think UNO Mas or something easy calving. i wouldn't hesitate to use HPF Optimizer. I used KLS Halfblood on heifers this past year and got some very well made good front calves.

Best Stops to look at Sale Calves in KS, NE, SD?

Not sure if you are looking for Club Calf specific calves or some breed specific stuff, but Drew Crawford and Justin Willard are putting a good set together for their fall sale. They are located in Arkansas.

Melatonin- how much and when to feed?

VC gave you some good info on feeding it in your earlier thread, I'd start there.

My daughter didn't "just" show a calf......

Great write up! I grew up showing Brown Swiss dairy cattle. We didn't have many good ones but once we did manage to hit one out of the park. She was 4 or 5 generations ours and an incredible cow. The feeling that cow gave me when walking around the ring is why I am doing beef cattle now. I hope...

    Wide Range Heifer

It depends on what you want to do with her. She's not bad looking, just plain. If you wanted to jazz her up some via Angus I'd go Insight or Blue Chip. Simmental, I'd look at Optimizer, or One Eyed Jack (many others to choose from as well). Gargans bull Red Revolver certainly has the pedigree...

    Show calf with hernia

I did surgery on one a while back, vet knew I was going to use him as a breeder and he never said anything about it. Maybe get a second opinion? It's hot but a hernia surgery is pretty simple, so I'd think the calf would be ok.

I need some advice for our steer

Practice practice practice on holding the head up. Plus I imagine its hard for an 8yr old to hold his head up for extended amount of time. When I showed dairy fitting and showing all my animals were cows because they practically held their own heads up, but they had been shown so many times...
