CAJS Blaze of Glory for heifers?

I have never used him myself, and know many people that have used him with no issues........But I also know a few people that have used him and gotten some real monsters out of him. I can't say one way or the other if he is safe or not.  I also don't typically follow the crowd when it comes to...

    double blower hose

I've melted a Y pipe sleeve running 2 blowers on the small hose.  They get HOT!

    CIDR exposed after insertion

I had a heifer last year that I could never get the CIDR in very deep.  She had no issues calving, but we tried on 2 different occasions to get her to set up for ET work with no success.  I ended up selling her. I assume some just aren't as deep as others.

    This kids...is a show steer.

At least I'm not punching a hole in a corvettes head after a year. LOL

    Aluminum Livestock Trailers

quickly read that link.  Your second statement is true.  Any trailer over 10K GVWR and you would need a restricted A, which would allow you to travel 150 air miles. In MD any Combination GVWR of 26,001 would require an A license. DOT laws are tricky and are interpreted differently by each and...

    Aluminum Livestock Trailers

Correct. Knabe, 10k GVW is pretty silly.  I guess all the camper pullers have to abide by the same rules?

    Aluminum Livestock Trailers

On trailers I have looked at and been around Merritt Wilson Eby They are also most expensive to cheapest in that order as well.  I have been around featherlites, and I wouldn't waste my money on one. Unless you were going to spec it like the other 3 mentioned, and then they get really expensive.

Does anyone still use AAOK’s recipe?

I don't hear of to many people using it.  In fact I had wanted to use it for my heifers as well, but when I gave the  mix to my nutritionist at my local mill they said no way would they use that on heifers?  So we ended up making a different one. That being said, there are tons of people who...

    Broker or Steel Force?

Steel Force.  The base of my SimAngus herd is Steel Force cows.  I also think Chopper works well. That being said, I don't think you can go wrong with Broker either, I just think his father is the better choice here.

I use a dry erase board.  Easy to change as things in the tank change.

    Sexed Heifer Calving Ease Semen

I would not use him on heifers without keeping a close eye on them.  I find the Loaded Up genetics can be all over the board for CE.  I know he is a full brother, but I'd still be wary. Not sexed that I know of, but Shell Shocked is about the most sure fire CE bull I know of. Also Uno Mas as...

    Breeding help

Ive waited a few days and put one with my ET recip group on the advice of my embryologist and it worked just fine.  He said sometimes they come back in heat, and sometimes they don't.  I had nothing to lose and it worked out.

    Looking for suggestions

As a whole the County O calves were dang nice, maybe not the best in the offering, but certainly all were solid calves that had the right look.  He was also on my list and I will be using him.  Dew North was another one that I really like, but Griswold only had one and I've only seen maybe 1...

    Simmental Bull Country O

I've seen a few in some online sales this fall.  Thought for sure I'd be seeing a lot more of him and Dew North.  I'll be waiting before I use them. The ones I have seen have been good, soggy bellied, big boned and clean fronted.  Just haven't seen enough of them to make up my mind yet

Looking for Red Angus heifer to show next year. Breeder recommendations?

Lonesome Creek Angus, Darren Schrag.  He has some of the best RA cows that walk, PERIOD.  He knows his red cattle well and uses mostly Canadian genetics. edit to add: I won't have any till next fall, but if you need any then I'd be glad to help.

    Anyone going to Keystone

That wouldn’t mind taking a Red Angus  heifer to show in the open class?  I think she is pretty decent, and I do t believe she will be a waste of anybody’s time. She has been shown before, but my day job doesn’t give me the freedom to take off at this time of year. I just feel she needs to be...
