Anyone heard of Mohnen Load Up?

Without looking and deeper in his pedigree I'll just say that the Jilt cow family is the best of the best at Mohnen. Very well respected cows in the Angus world.

    SAV Resource 1441

The blasters we have are stout.  Surprising amount of bone for his moderate birth weights.  Plenty of grow, tons of hair, and pretty docile.  My concern was his huge milk epd.  My hope is that on the moderate, easy fleshing Resource daughters they can handle it without pushing energy...

    SAV Resource 1441

Updated picture of an SAV Resource 2 year old that we are offering for sale this fall, N7's Blackwood Lady 4C.  Her dam is a daughter of TC Stout 407 and is a 3/4 sibling to my national champion cow, Blackwood Lady 2T. We've got her bred early to Bruns Blaster (MOGCK Bullseye).  Should be a cool...

    New Donor Cows

Mark - We must think a lot alike.  We used Blaster (a brother to No Doubt) and Peak Dot Jump Start (son of Easy Decision) this spring so I will have a good idea how those matings turned out in February.  Unanimous is still on my short list to use, I just haven't got to him yet.  I think he'd...

    New Donor Cows

Ya Cowboy Up is intriguing on a cow like her.  He's maybe a little loose in his structure but I bet he'd work on her. I'm curious just how big his daughters will get. When I say marketable I want one of two things: 1. Embryo matings that will sell to breeders. Whether that be for show cattle...

    New Donor Cows

We've acquired 2 new donor cows this fall from my Parents herd that I intend to flush in the spring/winter.  Looking for some marketable suggestions for Angus specifically but open to other ideas. Implant for frame growth

Yup 16% isn't out of the questions at all.  Especially if he's fat enough already

    Full blood Limousin semen

I'm sorta interested...assume it is exportable to Canada?  I'd have to figure out costs if it is viable....

Size of show cattle vs working cattle

I agree with you to an extent.  But you have to remember that a mature cow that would top out at 1200lbs under range conditions would still be a 1700lb plus cow if she was fed the way show calves are their entire life.  If you add in the variations in environment you could easily see show cattle...

    Herd Bull

This cow is a full sibling to the bull, NGW 44B (pioneer).  She got hurt and was culled last fall but it gives you an idea of what his daughters may look like.

    Herd Bull

Stopped in at my parents' place for a tour and snapped a couple pics of one of the herd bulls.  I posted them on Facebook and it seems to have stirred up some conversation so I thought I would share here.  Sired by SAV Pioneer off a TC Stout 407 cow.  2014 model so he's 3.

    SAV Resource 1441

GoWyo - I am using him (or his sons) across the board.  The sons and daughters aren't small in my herd.  My cow herd is mainly Frame 6 and under and 1500-1600lbs mature and my parents are more like frame 6 to 7 (some maybe higher) 1600-1900lb cows.  I don't feel he has downsized in terms of...

    SAV Resource 1441

Haha that's a pretty strong statement.  From what I have seen the Renown calves are less consistent but probably are lower BW.  Pictured below are a couple of random Resource 1st calf heifers from our herd.  No word of a lie, they all look identical.  Not sure how a bull with daughters like that...

CABANA -PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THESE CATTLE ARE-SHORTHORNS HERE NEED THESE GENETICS

I've spoke about it before on here but I have some experience with the Argentinian Angus blood.  We used quite a bit of semen of a bull that was brought to Canada as an embryo from Argentina, Blevin Tres Marias Patron.  We used him for the same reasons you cite, Rib shape, fleshing ease, muscle...

    Exciting Young Chiangus Bull

Fullblood Chianina were really common as sires of show steers in the later 70's and early 80's.  Mainly they were used to add frame to the "belt buckle" cattle that were common in the 50's and 60's.  I know a certain crazy Steerplanet member who just put some ampules of fullblood chi in a cow...

    Angus Semen Codes

Both SYES User Friendly and ROMN Justice are Limo bulls.  Justice is one of the most influential bulls in the breed.  That semen is valuable.  User friendly I believe was a Symens (from South Dakota) bull.  He was pretty popular as well.  I see him in several of my cattle's pedigrees.

    SAV Resource 1441

Better pic of the big guy.  28 months of age.  Just finished breeding.  Resources are certainly the easiest fleshing cattle I have on the farm.

    Best Angus Calves this year

No issues with the resource heifers that we calved this spring. Really turning into nice cows in my opinion.
