Iam told the comments made in the judging ring where shocking. Negative negative negative. A

For one I heard him mention epds in reference to a breed on the whole and not to an individual animal in the ring. I also never heard a lone reasoning for placing a calf lower because " the ears were too big for it's head". In regards to a white heifer " putting the breed back ten years" are you sure he wasn't talking about a heifer possibly having bone structure of an animal ten years ago? He did talk about bone structure and muscle attatchement from prior years to now and research behind it. I am not saying any of you are wrong in your opinion but I was in the front of the stands watching and I didn't hear it exactly the way it is being told. I will add that I did not see the group classes( projenys, group, get) so I don't know what he said in those classes. This is just how I saw things from my seat.

He was watching the show online. I spent most of the show in the entrance of the show ring, and I could not hear his comments clearly, but I certainly heard from lots of cattle people from inside and outside the breed. If the judge actually said what I was told he said, he really did a disservice for the breed.
/// Ive never seen him judge-but Ive read some pretty pretentious ads when it comes to the descriptions of anything they have for sale-every animal in the catalogue seems to be the next savior of the cattle industry. But he is a shorthorn breeder? His cow dispersal is coming up here pretty quick and most of the genetics are Canadian influenced? I thought from what I have heard he does a nice job?
