I need to give a 4-H demonstration upcoming in February and since I am learning more and more about cattle I wanted to do my demonstration about cattle. I am am so excited but the things is I have no clue what to do it on!! So if y'all could help me out I would appreciate it! I am open to new ideas and subjects, I am real passionate about agriculture and keeping it around...I have done many demonstrations on PETA and The HSUS. But I really wanted to do one on cattle, since I am new to this and wanting to learn!! Thanks much! :) Lindsey

Lindsey,
We had a kid in our club do a really great clipping demo.  He went through the necessary tools, products and method.  It was pretty quick because he didn't clip the whole calf.  You could also figure out how to make a rope halter and show the kids how to do that.  If you are a fairly savvy feeder you could do your demo on feeding a steer from start to finish for show.  Telling the people about ADG and adjusting your feed to reach your target weight.  You could do a demo on proper skin care/hair care, or proper housing.  Just a couple ideas.  Good Luck!

If you want a good easy working demonstration.  Show them how to eartag and how to tatoo.  My son did it and we made fake ears and everyone was interested.  Then you can tell the importance of proper identification and other ways of achieving it like branding ect.
