That is one of the major downsides of democracy.  It is not very effecient and the right decision is hardly ever the popular one.  So our government keeps making the wrong decisions because everyone wants to get re-elected.

i had an old boss and she consoled me after one of my endless perfect ideas wasn't listened to AGAIN.

"look knabe, ideas are a dime a dozen, 50% are terrible 40% won't even matter, and 10% or less are even good ideas."

i think i pouted one more time and she gave me a tampon.  lesson learned.
