Age of Steers

Greetings,

I have 2 nice steers that might be a little young and was wanting some advice on them to see if you think they will weigh enough for a late March county show .  One is out of a 1/2 Brahman 1/2 hereford cow and a SimAngus bull he is a late December.  the 2nd is out of a Angus cow and the same SimAngus Bull same age.  I know they are on the young side  Do any of you have any reservations or advise to give about this situation?  I do not have pics and will not be able to get any.

Dec calves can make it if pushed hard from day one ( or 30)  creep feed , the right implants  etc

While December calves are hard as heck to sell, you'd be surprised how many of the steers at the top of the American classes are born then or even later.  You just don't hear about them because the people who promote their calves don't mess with calves that young.
