AI-ing a Second Calf Heifer/Cow

Hi everyone,
I have a current show heifer/cow who is ready to be rebred, only problem is that I don't know how to do it myself, and I just don't have $500 to take her to a vet. Anyone know anyone who could help out? Or any advice? Thanks in advance.

Don't know where you are but there has to be someone close,  the vet might but 500 is way out of line.  Genex has several guys around the country,  you should be able to find someone for not too many dollars.  Semen may be your problem,  usually have to buy 5 minimum,  but lot of the semen distributers have some breeds in their tank. Do a little looking.

Don't know where you are at but if you brought her to my place I would charge $25 plus semen to breed one head.

Most reps should be able to help you out with this or know another local person that would. $500 seems very steep. I would expect it to be closer to $25-40 range plus semen cost. Good luck.

Not sure where you are located. I don't charge 4 H, FFA kids, you just pay for the semen.
