Wow, how many times must SP deal with this.  All you have to do is list your post like j3cattleco said in his post (he had a perfect example), if you don't have the time or want to take the effort to post credit for other breeders cattle, then don 't post.  Stop ripping everyone just because your a lazy poster.  I believe you are a good guy, but you can't be a angry person in your post and say your a great guy on the phone or in person.  It is all the same in my book.  You don't want to sound like you are a 21 year old kid running daddy's farm, and that's the way your a sounding in your posts.  Quit acting immature and post like someone with some professionalism, you bring this on yourself every time.  I may not move or sale as many cattle as you, but I always give credit, were credit is due.  You have been called out by several members that actually know the breeders of the cattle you are trying to sell, and the breeder does not even know who you are and has not gave you permission to sell or advertise their cattle.  I hope others have the same opinions.

I am in total agreeance with the above.
As a young perosn starting out, I will give you this piece of advice. I have learned this myself by making mistakes, and am glad I was given chances to build a good reputation.
You must ALWAYS carry yourself as if you are trying to make a friend or potential customer. Be knowledgable, polite, courteous, and respectful in EVERYTHING you do or say. Face to face encounters, phone calls, and emails. I do not think that if you had cattle at a national show and I asked who the owners were that you would jump down my throat, so why do it on here? With this day and age being very technology oriented, and the majority of potential buyers coming to the net to find cattle you must carry yourself in a manner that will make someone eager to pick up the phone and give you a call. When looking on here and other websites I always have my phone right next to me and if I see something worth calling about and I feel that the person would be worthing talking to I will call. However, you can show me a picture of a "solid gold" show prosepect/breeding piece, and if you come off as someone I would not want to be tied in with I WILL NOT PICK UP THE PHONE. There are plenty of people selling great cattle that have great attitudes to go along with it, I would not waste my time trying to purchase anything from someone who has a less than courteous attitude towards a potential sustomer base.
As always, just my opinion,

I agree with CowHerd and ShowmanQ.  If someone is going to be successful at anything and be reputable, they must conduct themselves in a professional matter, no matter what the situation or format of communication.  Great two Posts.

I travel coast to coast everyday for business. If you move as many cattle as you say you do, then maybe you need to develop thicker skin. I know for a fact some "things" haven't been taken out of context. We have a pretty good group of folks on this site.

I encounter THOUSANDS of customers in one year. FACE to FACE, if I repsonded to complaints or concerns in the fashion you do, I would not be working for a Fortuen 500 company for long. I pride my self on customer service. You "ain't" gonna get many customer's with the previous post.

ALSO, I had tried your sight several times piror when you posted before and it was SUSPENDED as well. I think it is great you have it up and running. Mr Wolfe doesn't live that far from us, I might have to make a trip to take look at this bugger.

BH, there is always more to the story.

The first reason i would call oran wolfe would be to ask him if he knows he is getting this kind of negative publicity about the marketing of their cattle, or some of the others a month or two ago.  I wouldn't want an arguement going on here and have my marketing in the middle of it.  I would kiss this person good bye or tell him to shut his trap.  It isn't about who's right or wrong, the truth is these good producers marketing is caught up in these arguements when this person comes on here..  I've called bs on it before.

i cut a deal with oran to have the canadian semen rights to the bull it says that plain and clear on the website which is why in my post i said VISIT MY WEBSITE!!!!!!! im just getting sick of the bs that gets said on here by people that dont have the balls to call me or message me to find out whats for sale etc..... instead they talk tough on here and its embarassing!

Ok Im gonna jump in here, Steerjockey (You are definately carrying on the steer jock name)- Most of them are NOT very nice-  Alot of us on here sell cattle that are just as good as yours and we dont conduct ourselves such as what  you have done-  Im not sure if you are  young or just arrogrant but in either case the best way for  you to promote your cattle is to suck it up and be nice to people, even if you dont agree with what they do or say.  Ive tried to get my sons to remember that also as they are in the show cattle business, selling just like you.  You definately have GOOD cattle but people on this particular forum will support you to the ends of the earth if you just give them the benefit of the doubt.  We love having you here on Steeplanet but as in life, you must conduct your self with support of others and respect for others and their opinions.  Please never personally attack anyone on here, if you have something BAD to say please PM them and save everyones dignity. Not sure I spelled that right.

Okay, I'm new here but feel like I would like to state an opinion on the matter.  Throw all the rocks at me you want, as I'm sure some of you will.

Assuming this guy is legitimate, I would think he has every right to be upset about the way he's been treated.  This is the 2nd time I've seen him come on here with calves to sell, that every single post about his cattle was one questioning his integrity.

Every forum I've ever been a part of, clearly states that the classifieds section is for buying, selling, and trading.  Nearly all of them have rules against negative comments on someones "for sale" ad, when referring to the item or price.  You guys all seem to have a problem with this person individually.  Fine....if there's a beef with this guy, then boot his rear off the website.  If he's not violating any rules, then don't comment on his posts & allow him and his buyers an opportunity to hash out a sale.  If you're not looking for price, location (sidenote: why on earth is location not REQUIRED to be shown beneath a user's avatar on this site?) or more details about a person's cattle, why continue to blast away?  It just makes this website look really stupid, in my opinion.  (argue)

If the guy is violating rules, boot his butt.  If not, leave him alone and let him sell cattle.

I think the main issue is not what he is doing but the fact that he came  back with guns a blazin & fire in his 'eyes' .    I didn't think either of those first two posts by the other posters were in anyway bashing the guy or anything.  They were informative with one being a little complimentary.

What I am questioning isn't his integrity at all, it is how he is connected to so many sales.  Every time he has posted a calf that is for sale it comes up that it is on someone elses web site, Gregory's and Wolfe's (the last2) are established breeders and I was just trying to find out how he fits in and as of yet he hasn't answered that question, that's when you start to question!

Steerjockey, you might as well just find another avenue for your calves. Everytime you post something on this site people are going to assume there is something fishy and nit pick every detail.

I  appreciate the cattle you have posted for sale and if it was the right time of year for me- we would be doing some business.

I read another post that stated, personal problems should be dealt with on a personal level..well,why wasn't it.  Instead people get on this site and band together and make it a public problem. Negative publicity comes from the people posting...not steerjockey.

Now, there is a permanent post pertaining to selling someone else's cattle. I feel like some people that post on this sight feel that a federal background check is necessary to buy anything. For anyone that doesn't think there are folks that sell cattle that from time to time need a little help to get one sold you must not know a lot about the business. Even the biggest traders in the country have to put there feelers out there.

Life is a two way street if you don't want the guy coming on here getting upset- treat him with a little respect.

As another post said, if you don''t want him here boot him off if your not going to then shut your mouth and don't look at the post.

he hasn't broken any rules. he clearly owns the semen rights to the bull therefore he can sell that piece of ownership if he wishes to on this site.

I never said that he broke any rules or have a problem with him trying to sell cattle.  I had a problem with his attitude.  I don't have time to read each and every post on here to know that he was at odds with others.  If he thinks that someone was wrong by posting a link to the calfs owners websight who are advertising him for sale, I disagree.  If he thinks that he had exclusive marketing rights, then he needs to talk to the owners and not rip the person who posted the link.

My daughter delt with "SteerJocky" this weekend and he was very helpful. My daughter put an ad on here loooking for a show steer and he responded. After talking with him she told him she had picked out some calves at a sale this weekend. He got her contact with someone he knew that was personally at the sale and helped her get her new steer. I have to say he was very respectful and one of the most heplful person we have ever delt with. He even called her the next day and thanked her and to see if there was anything else he could do. I know that next year when she is looking for new calves she will be calling him.

1. some good ones sell here but not as many as mr gonnet helps get moved and I believe he is the real deal professional. Pick up the phone and give him a ring.
2. IMO Mr Gonnett is defending him self. The man just posts cattle for sale. maybe some of you guys need to be more friendly and give the botd some times
3.  Hypocrisy at it's best.

glad someone called and got the help they may have needed SKF. *applause*
