Sorry to read this. I'm sure some people think it's great but I am disgusted. What did he really do that was so bad. I guess I missed something. Just goes to show when you don't go with the flow you get kicked out of the creek. No more posts for me. I will just be a lurker and listen to everybody say how great everything is.  The registered game will be so much easier to play without people here to question it.

Does anyone know why? I noticed he posted this morning, but really I didn't find it offensive hardly any pot stirring at all...

aj in general told it like it was and used less tact than maybe should have been used.  but "freedom of speech?". being the devils advocate is not alway popular. im braceing for the replys. no disrespect intended for either the monitors or aj

Was he really banned or did he just change his Profile setting thing to "BANNED" like I just did?

I don't think he always stated the truth in my opinion but in the end that depends on ones definition of the word truth, belittling (which is what aj did to me and other users) isn't my definition of truth, but in going through his previous posts I didn't see anything warranting a ban either.

AJ wouldn't do that just to get everyone all talking about it. ;)

I will truely miss AJ'S ability to paint a picture with his words, like the time he suggested that Kit Pharo was going to judge the national Shorthorn Junior Heifer show.

I have been very, very lenient when it comes to banning.  I can count on one hand, how many people that have been banned.

He crossed the line when he was posting sarcastic comments in a thread that a user was remembering the passing the of a friend and he also was mocking another user in the prayers thread at the top of the forum.  I removed the posts because they are in extremely bad taste.

I let people post about anything they want, all that I ask is that you refrain from vulgarity, racist, xxx, threats, and anything that is in bad taste.  He knows the rules and he likes to poke until provokes a response.

To say that I have been anything than extremely fair and tolerant is an understatement.  I have stood up for AJ numerous times, but there is a point where an action needs to be taken.

Also to reiterate, his 2 offending posts were deleted.  I put the ban in place yesterday, but I did it from my phone and it did not take.

Trevor- We all appreciate a difference of opinion and individuality. But it comes to a point where some people enjoy poking fun and ridiculing others for their own insecure thoughts. We all don't have to get along nor do we have to agree. For some of us who have been on this board for quiet some time, I never felt his post were thought provoking as much as they were mean spirited MANY times. No reason anyone can't post a difference of opinion and march to the beat of a different drum but have some respect for others who don't see it the way you do. This board was frequented by children and youth. We should be setting an example on how to respectfully post opposing opinions, thoughts and view points. Being ugly and petty is not adult nor is it productive to the board. I for one enjoy YOUR ideas and opinions. I would encourage you to continue to post thoughs opinions but I have never seen you ridicule or pick for mean spirited fun.Thank you Trevor for posting.

Thank you, Jason, for acting on this situation.  I read both the posts you mentioned before you took them off and I agree they went way over the line.  I see no reason to make fun of someone when they are obviously feeling the loss of a friend.  Furthermore, when someone asks fellow SP members to remember someone with prayers or positive thoughts it should not be open to ridicule by others.  I for one have grown extremely weary of AJ's constant need for attention at the expense of others.  I hope everyone on SP feels free to express their opinions respectfully, in fact, I encourage it.    However, the key word is respect and AJ obviously lost any he had for other SP members a long time ago.  Even though I tried to work with AJ early on to soften his harsh approach to others, he ignored any help offered and I believe his last two posts sunk to new lows even for him.  He may not even recognize it but it seems to me he has been in a downward spiral towards this inevitable conclusion for some time.  I hope those who defend his actions are not planning to follow his disrespectful ways.    JMHO

I look at chat boards like the SP as a coffee shop for many to gather and share thoughts and discuss opinions.  If I owned a coffee shop where someone constantly belittled others, that person would not be allowed in my business anymore.  He may have went to far recently but it surely isn't the first time he was out of line.  I hope he can come back someday and be a little more respectful.  Nobody expects someone to be a yes-man on a message board, if you disagree try and do it in a tasteful way,  JMO.  Jason, I appreciate all that you do and am sure it is not always easy to make decisions like this.

Well, once again I stand corrected. I have this problem with the filter between my brain and mouth. It just lets everything through sometimes. I did not read those posts and when I searched for what he said I couldn't find a good reason. Jason, it's your deal and I am still a new person so forgive me if I get up on my soapbox sometimes.  Common sense first and foremost tells me not to poke fun at people when they are down or in need of your prayers or help. I liked aj, he never rubbed me wrong. He was a different voice in a sea of the same ol same ol. I wish him the best with his cattle. Maybe something in aj's life has been bothering him and he just vents on steerplanet. Who knows really. I have far more respect for a guy like aj who tells it like he sees it vs a breeder who is a bubbly with you and has something for everyone.

Bottom line, I want to eat better beef and thats what I am working on.  I am not after gaining attention for myself. I want attention to go on the cattle that can help us all spend less and earn more. Everything else is all water under the bridge.
Sorry to rant earlier but I felt he was being railroaded. After the facts are before me I can see why it happened.

Not a problem, I can't see the stance you took while looking back on his posts, but not see the offending posts.
