Ok-so what are all of you fellas out there using on your Ali heifers?  I have a Ali heifer on a PB Charolais cow.  Was thinking maybe Who Made Who or possibly back to Ali...any thoughts or ideas?-all are appreciated!

I have an Ali X heatwave second calf heifer that is a TH carrier that is due to No Apologies in August.  She is really moderate and cool fronted.  I have thought about breeding her to Firewater next time around.

For what it is worth, I believe Predator would complement your Ali x Charolais heifer quite nicely. I, too, have heard Hot Commodity clicks well with the Ali genetics, as does DCC Hard Drive.

Best of luck to you with your breeding endeavors.

Where can I get a pic/information on Predator?  I've heard of him a few times before-but have never seen any of his calves.

There is a wealth of information on Chad Holtkamp's blog pertaining to Predator and his calves.

We are planning on breeding a nice Chill Factor cow to Predator.

I completely agree with Predator. I know he's not a certified "calving ease" bull, but I know that some people have used him on heifers with success.  I would for sure consider him for her 2nd calf. We're using him on our Maine influenced cows, and might even use him on some Purebred Shorthorns that could use that cocky look but don't want to cross them all to heck.

We have 2 Ali cows that we raised. I used Smokin Joe to mine for her 1st calf, which from the calf crops he has had, I'm probably not going to press my luck breeding heifers to him again. I got a 85# heifer from that which I kept who is due in August for a Gucci calf. The other we bred the 1st go around to Gambles Playmaker and got an awesome heifer out of that deal that we also kept. We have also gone Simmi with them before with Mama's Boy, but I don't think he's calving ease. If you wanna go the Maine Anjou route, I would try Gucci or Mercedes Benz. We bred our heifers to Gucci this year and had great success. Good dispositions, hairy, and real eye catchers! I have heard good things about Mercedes Benz. With yours being out of a Char cow, I would go the safe route and try an angus bull or something that's a proven calving ease bull.We had a Char heifer we bred to I-80 last year that weighed around 90#. He was an easy pull, but I think she put the size in him a little bit too. A small live calf is better than a big dead one and possibly even a dead heifer. Good luck in your picking. There are a ton of bulls to decide from and I hope the SP members can help you decide! :)
