perferabbly white faced but not too picky
good thickness and structre
* emphasis on maternal trait*
would like style of the showcattle industry
to be used on commercial angus cows to make sim solution females and a bull or 2

Ok simmy breeders lay it to me whoa re your picks of bulls that can do it all
one bull to breed to 30 cows

i'm liking "grandmaster"
not a fan of "dream on "himself

I am biased But we absolutely love our SVF/NJC Amazon calves.
The bull is supper sound moderate calving blaze faces
We have been using him on our Angus females LOVE them

below is a yearling daughter she is one of 11 calves we had his first year.  We have about 60 this yar and just out of our 20 fall babies there are 4 heifers better than this one

PearlAnn, what is he doing on frame?  We have a cow that we think he'd really work on but we sure do not want to downsize.

Mo Better will put a white face on angus cow most of the time.  We have used him on Angus and Simmental hiefers with no assists and have females in production that are getting the job done with perfect udders.  He adds a lot of style as well.  We had a class winner at Houston in 2008 that was sired by Mo Better.

We bought him to increase frame on our little frame 4 cows and he is doing that the heifer pictured is a frame 5.  He is a solid frame 6.  I dont think he will add frame to larger cows, and he defiantly wont downsize

We sold a yearling bull at expo over the weekend and he weighed 1420
We are thrilled with the performance he is bringing to the table. along with soundness, phenotype.  We are just super happy with him

P-F, I have been a fan of Amazon since B4 you bought him. I was hoping that he may downsize cows some. Are you fairly sure that he definantly won't downsize? Thnaks, Brent

Truthfully I have no idea what he will do on larger cows

our biggest cow  might be a frame 5.5 and that would be pushing it.  our cows are very moderate. he is adding frame and length of body to ours

Sorry I cant be of more help

I am waiting to hear calf reports from Yardley and Bushy Park

I am really curious to hear from Bushy Park because they split 100 head angus cows and bred half to Amazon and half to Built right

SAS T101 Sweet Meat is an up and coming bull that meets your criteria. Homo black and polled, good EPDs, and nice to look at. I tried him out last December. I think Mo Better would work too.

Built Right would be my first choice, but if you're not a fan of Dream On, he might not be for you.

Built Right follows the pattern of his sire closely.

Not a fan of Mo Better; they just did not work for us.

I like Built Right and Grandmaster, has anybody tried Rendition? I'm thinking about breeding some of our cows to him.

Rendition would be my choice.  Heard that he has thrown some baldies on angus cows.  I've seen a daughter and she was nice.  clean fronted with a depth and wide body.  Strid was great too.  Covered her tracks.

Amazon, I really like. Dream Catcher would be next.Maximus and Macho would follow. You get decent maternal with unmatched style. Not for purist. In the last five years, pepole have told me they have increased their profits, especiall from Macho and Maximus, simply because they have reached prevously unreached markets, such as Sim Solution and the clubby market.Gib Yardley uses hem too.

I'm fixing to breed a few cows to Rendition. I don't really care for Macho calves bc they tend to be a little cut up in the flank and tie into their back 1/3 weird, but they do have really good hips.

I am also not a Dream on fan, I have seen some really good ones, but some have some ugly heads and necks to them. With the right cows I think they are great. So I bought a Baldie purebred Mo Better Son for a heard bull last year. Been using angus bulls for past 4 years and needed to get back some simm in my heard. Bred him to hiefers and cows. Bred to both comm angus, simm, and sim angus cows and some clubbie cows. Only pulled one calf so far out of a sunseeker 1st calf heifer. Almost all the calves are baldie and blaze faced. I am very impressed and calves are I think the best calves I have ever had. I missed one cow that usually gets bred AI and so far the heifer she had this year looks to be better than any AI calf out of her, might not have the TH hair but I would imagine she will never leave my pature for all her life anyways. And my clubbie 2nd calvers and 1st calvers that were bred, those calves look even better. Those heifers would be out of ALI, WMW, Sunseeker, and Ground Zero. All of those calves look like they are out of a AI bull. And the bull has really gotten the job done, it looks like this year could be the earliest year I am done calving. Started Calving March 15th and only have 7 left, some of those we AId and didnt settle. I think I ony have 3-4 cows left to calve that were only with the bull.
