Angelina Jolie Says Being Vegan 'Nearly Killed' Her

Angelina Jolie says that her extreme vegan diet nearly killed her. She gave eating red meat in an effort to be healthier, but said that it actually resulted in malnourishment.

“I joke that a big juicy steak is my beauty secret. But seriously,I love red meat. I was a vegan for a long time, and it nearly killed me. I found I was not getting enough nutrition."

Her partner Brad Pitt is rumored to be a strict vegetarian and the meat debate has been a big one in her house.

"Brad hates seeing the children eating meat and he’s annoyed with how much red meat Angelina has," a source told the Daily Mail last year.

Jolie doesn't specify the time frame she was vegan, but anyone who has followed her on the red carpet will recall her skeleton thin period.

The 35-year-old brunette beauty also admits she enjoys seeing her hands “grow older” as it is a sign of how much she has grown up and  matured as a

mother to six children - Maddox, nine, Pax, six, Zahara, five, Shiloh, four, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne - whom she raises with Pitt.

“Happiness is when I look down at my hands and they are washing a baby. I can sort of see my hands grow older and I love it.”

I feed a bunch vegans @ work. They all look malnourished along with their children. They also look orange from eating too much carrot juice.

I can't understand why one group of people thinks they can dictate what another group of people eat.  The state of Ohio voted to keep their ways out of this state, we put a group of people from all walks of live on a board to do so.  Just finding out though, it is going to do just the opposite.  Imagine that!  Polictics from Washington got to our governor.  Us people don't have a chance, the vote is always the wrong one.  People better wake up to what HUSU is trying to do too our food supply in this country.  Some da they won't have any meat to buy at Walmart, that's the plan though!

I would take her as a Eat Beef spokesperson any day. Bill Walton said basically the same thing. He started eating beef again. Now if we could only get Carrie Underwood to stop being a veg and supporting HSUS, we might get somewhere.

In honor of this article, I am going to order a ribeye for dinner tonight!!

unequal opportunity must be overcome by equal outcome.  otherwise we aren't moving forward.

Thats just stupid. Why doesn't the parents of the "beef eating" students join and raise some hell? They can offer an option... our school does it all the time.
This might be the case of "parents blaming the system" instead of stepping up and defending their childs right to eat beef....

underwood married a beef eating, pork chomping hockey player... might be a ray of hope.
