Angus bulls

From some sales I've visited...

Guess I would have to pick them in the order they are pictured. Closest pick would be between the first and second bull. It appears the second bull may be thicker and softer made.

In order of pics (all in Aussie dollars):
- $17,000
- $30,000
- $50,000

My pick was the first bull- he was actually bought by a syndicate which included a US buyer

guess that goes to show that not everyone sees these bulls the same way. aj... what do you think of these prices? Don't tell me the corruptness has spread across the pond to Oz!

Yes the angus here are really going places when a bull like this with a great set of EPDs makes so much money.  :  He has alot of marbling which is proably why he looks like a wagyu not a angus.  The buyer of the first and second bull I am sure has a great set of fertile functional cows maybe not as well figured but not frail and fall over when things get tight. JMO

I sure like the first two bulls. That high seller just doesn't do it for me so the high marbling and EPD's answers some of it. Single trait selection can lead to some surprising results. I would love to have sold him for the $50,000 though, mostly jealous !

if he had the same muscle as the other bulls and the same fat, would he have the same marbling?

was he genotyped verified to his parents?  are his parents verified angus?  are his parents parents verified angus?

Kabe. He would of been DNA'd Here a bull can not be transferred unless this happens but beyond that I do not know if memory serves me right his genetics come from the good old US of A so I am sure he is legit.

There you have it -- that bull is what you get when you have an overdose of Future Direction in 3 of the 4 prongs of his pedigree.

Is this bull actually AM and NH free?  Seems he has really run the gauntlet with all the Future Direction in there.  Maybe with all the stacked pedigree he will way outbreed himself.

If you look at the pedigree you will see he tested free maybe the key to why he made so much. I agree lucky to be free with so much FD I suppose the breeder is following the Nbar principles of line breeding. I don't agree but then I have not sold a $50 000 bull or anything near close. :-\

Just a guess here but the chances of him being clean are slim to none, so by him being clean I think he created alot of excitement. Honestly I still can't believe he is AM and NH free. What are the odds of that? Wow.
Future Direction....... from the outhouse to the penthouse back to the outhouse. Gotta love genetic defects.
