Unfortunately, what they showed here was only a tip of the iceberg. Restauraunts are another matter entirely. On a recent trip, I watched a waitress dump a few part cups of coffee , back into the coffee pot. They were left by customers who had finished their meals and left. After dumping the part cups back into her coffee pot, she continued from table to table asking each, if they wanted more coffee. I had been thinking about getting a refill until I saw this. This was not a diner but a fairly high class extablishment, with a top end menu, with a very high rating from public health officals.
But then, the old timers used to say we all would be healthier, if we at a peck of dirt and a pound of horse hair each year. I am not sure if this logic extends to recycled coffee as well. It did make me wonder what other food products were being "recycled" in this restaurant. My dad always says that a person should never look into the kitchen at your favourite retaurant. It may disallusion you as to how good the food is, that is served.
