Any Rumor mill calves?

Looking at some options for this years heifer breedings.  Used power 2 change last year.  Are having good luck, and the calves are what we hoped for, but my father, whose cows they are, wants something not baldy......  I tried to convince him that a bunch of black baldy heifer calves was a good thing, but he is not into chrome!

Saw a younger heifer at Fort Worth Blind Badger from Colorado had. Super cool looking from the side with great hip structure, and sound. Had an ample amount of stoutness for me, had a little chrome though. Pwolfe who is a member here is part owners on him and could tell you exactly what they have had, as well as what he works best on. But so far I'm very impressed with his calves although I've never had any.

Thank you, Limiman12, for asking about Rumor Mill calves, and thank you, Mainevent, for your kind words pertaining to his calves.  I, along with the other owners (Blind Badger, Shea Geffert, and Bob May), have been exceedingly pleased with the overall quality and consistency of Rumor Mill's calves.  With a sampling of enough calves on the ground, we believe, without hesitation, him to be a calving ease sire, for his calves have ranged in the 62 to 82 pound range, are small-headed, and smooth-shouldered.  What we, too, have liked is that the calves are vigorous and find their mothers' teats quickly.  

From what we have seen, he is working well on a variety of cows;  Rumor Mill has been used on more moderately framed, thicker made cows and bigger framed, lighter muscled cows with strong consistency.  The calves have exhibited dimension, structural and skeletal correctness, rib shape, adequate bone, and hair.  Minimal chrome has been shown.

Had a Rumor Mill heifer out of a 5 yr old Golden Child x Mossy Oak cow yesterday.  99# unassisted, up and nursing in 15 minutes and frisky as can be by last night.

Thank you for using Rumor Mill ... We, too, have been quite pleased with how quickly his calves have gotten up to nurse and how vigorous they seem to be.  I wanted to take this opportunity to post two pictures of Rumor Mill progeny; from what we have seen, his calves continue getting better with time.  The first picture is of a RM x Ali son heifer; the second is of a RM x EC x Dream Girl bull calf.

Again, I, along with the other owners of Rumor Mill, appreciate breeders taking the opportunity to use him.

We have a cow that we purchased from Blind Badger as a heifer and she has now had her second calf.  She is a full sister to Rumor Mill and we absolutely love that cow.  She is deep bodied, easy keeping, stout, sound, has a perfect udder and is a wonderful mother.  I don't know how much that helps you, but if he is as good as she is I wouldn't hesitate to use him for a minute.

I apologize in advance to everyone involved for the horrible picture.  Here is ours.  This is 40 days post calving.  She has been in a dry pasture/dry lot since and eating grass hay and a lick tub we provide pre/post calving.  She is filthy and absolutely a cow and gets zero special treatment and right now it shows, but in my opinion she is still looking pretty good considering.

Mark, it is something we are considering.  We were waiting to see what kind of cow she was going to make.  Could definitely be in her future.

With the positive Rumor Mill calf reports I have been receiving, I thought I would take this opportunity to post two pictures of his offspring.  The first picture is a Rumor Mill x Eye Candy x Northern Improvement bull calf that has gained quite a bit of interest; the second picture is a Rumor Mill x Salty Dog heifer calf.  Both calves pictured are out of first calf heifers.

Once again, Rumor Mill offspring will be offered through fall sales and into 2014. For those of you who have introduced Rumor Mill genetics into your herd, I, and the other owners, are extremely appreciative.  As an added bonus, his offspring seem to grow stronger as they age.

Thank you, Telos, for your kind words pertaining to Rumor Mill.  We (Blind Badger, Shea Geffert, Bob May, and myself) believe he has and will continue to sire progeny that will not only be accepted well in showring, but also more importantly, in production.  With his genetic make-up, we feel he can be and has been used on a variety of cows, and as I have mentioned numerous times, he is heifer safe.
