Try to be an example to the kids that look up to and that show for you or its gonning to make then look bad for being around you.

Why do breeding shows matter?

Seems all that are there are obese crippled cattle no commercial person would ever go expecting to buy something

Sure there are exceptions.

I think associations should tell judges to quit picking that fat females with no softness in their pasterns. There are more of these now than I ever saw in the giant era. What a joke.

Hey Allgood, my daughter is in class right now, but I will answer for her, we have heard of conversations you have had with others concerning judges, politics, etc, your facebook page says it all, you dawg on Kevin Jensen after you got the gate at Ft Worth, your showing in Tulsa, whatever. You're a negative person when things don't go your way. Ag teachers around TX think you are a poor example, 4-H agents are included. When are you going to learn that, that big mouth of yours is going to get you no where? You were an Ag teacher yourself, I suppose we don't have to question why you were fired! Get a life. Oh and my daughter isn't bald headed and definitely not on steroids.

you know, i have been thinking about this for a really really long time...and for the life of me, i dont see how people dont "get it"

i dont know anyone involved in the situation that started this thread or anything about it,  but it got me thinking about some things that transpire here on the planet, and its actually a pretty similar situation...

here's a newsflash for some people:  if you type something on the internet, and put your name to it, it becomes your reputation!  i guess people think that since they arent face to face, they can say whatever they want and not suffer any consequences.  but the truth is, people listen to what you type, and use that to form an opinion about you!!!  really!  they do!

i honestly believe some people think that the internet gives them the right to throw manners and cooth out the window.  when i read some the things people post, i think to myself "are they really that ignorant to think saying something like that is not going to hurt their reputation????do they not think saying that would effect their ability to sell calves (since this is steerplanet and what most of the people on here do)?  well, i guess if their customers never use the internet...but really? its the 21st century!  who doesnt?  so now, besides just your neighbors knowing how much of a butt you are, the world wide web knows!  yep...you are famous...too bad its not for anything positive.  and thank heavens for the sale barn!

and while im at it, let me also say there are some people on this board, that i wouldnt care if they had raised the greatest  heifer  in the whole wide world ever and i had  more money than god, i would NOT buy it from them because of the way they present themselves on the internet and their attitude.  and i think there are alot of other people who feel that way too!

what you type carries as much weight as what you say, do, or sign nowadays.  the real "idiots" are the people who dont get that.

shew...

Same here, the internet is having profound effects on they way we socialize, both good and bad.  Here is what some people don't understand, when I go to hire someone, I take a look to see if they have a facebook page.  Whatever I can see plays a part in the hiring decision.  If you act like an idiot on the internet, what makes me think you are not an idiot off the internet.

.   However since my original post I have been confronted on this matter in a positive light about numerous judges and their obvious connection and loyalty to each other accross many breeds, this seems to be a recurring theme and Mr. Hudson as well as numerous others partake in such activities of favoritism and bias that there will be a push to remedy

I have been showing cattle for only 30 years, was a total newcomer when I started, and have heard the same thing about politics in 2 countries. How exactly now are you going to remedy this?

After 20 plus years of showing I think I've figured out a couple of things. (1) There is no " right way" to do anything. (2) The guy in the suit is the only opinion that counts until after the show. Once you figure that out everything else is easy. The only thing that P---ing and moaning will get you is indigestion. The only thing hollering and screaming at the judge will get you is a bad reputation.

The problem is when people start getting a sense of entitlement. Every show is a new show, it doesn't matter if you have the best animal that's ever walked on 4 legs and has been grand at ever show imaginable. NO amount of previous winnings entitles a calf to win another show. You paid the judge for his opinion, you got his opinion. When you publicly bash one of the most highly regarded judges in the show industry, yes there is going to be some backlash. Mr. Hudson is one of the most honorable men I have met. He is a Christian man with great character.

If you haul "That Great One", ( whether it really is or YOU think it is ), long enough sooner or later they will get beat. Right or wrong it will happen. How YOU handle it determines whether YOU are a CHAMPION or not.

Plenty of mental eunuchs around out here.

Western society has a birth rate below replacement.
