At what age should kittens be fixed?

I'll bite, I googled it, any where from 8 weeks / 2 pounds to 4 months 4 pounds, most said as early as 8 weeks, if you wait past 6 months you'll be dealing with more kittens.

Our Vet waits to do it a 4 months.

We got a couple kittens and they will be indoor-outdoor cats. Frankie and Houdini. Do fixed females still come into heat?
