I purchased Ultimate Type with the intention of putting his great rump structure, style, and correctness on the predominately dual based herd I had at the time. It worked great. Unfortunately, the 80's happened and my plans kind of got short circuited. I took a calfhood photo of him at Lazy D's when I picked him out that would knock your socks off. I wish I could find it, it's only been about 40 years ago. I had my choice down to Ultimate Type and HL Quane. I picked Ultimate Type because he looked just as his name would imply, also why Richard named him as he did. I always wondered what kind of name he would have made for himself in someone else's hands. UT's full sister, Lazy D Deerpark Una, was one tremendous female, but could never get around Greeley's Dividend Pearl heifer. I thought Quane's dam was one of the best Irish cows I had seen. I have semen from both bulls and always wondered how it would be to cross the two. Maybe some day.
