i talked to a guy who saw womanizer at stud and he thought he looked awful. never heard much about babe ruth but if i was going to try one it wouldn't be womanizer.

i like the looks of babe ruth. Real clean fronted and stylish, but will probably need to use on cows with rib.  womanizer looks way too short cannon boned to me.

Just think if it works you can beat on your chest and say I wasn't SCARED to be one of the first too use him.

Its crazy how much these bulls change when you get them out of there clipped up dresses...unfortunately that is usually the only way we get to see them...thank you for your comments...but there is usually always at least one bull every year that is gonna end up holding his own.....if not these two, who is it gonna be???    maybe walks alone?? and as for you "show steaks" good luck and i hope that bull turns out to be womanizer <rock>

Walks Alone blows those away in my mind. Plus the owner obviously knows much better than I. People who do really well are good to emulate.

Thats what it seems...I guess we will know in about nine months time! i love the looks of walks alone and am considering using him, but for the topic i thought that womanizer and babe ruth matched up pretty well for comparison.

Damn, if you judged all the bulls that you see at "stud" they would never sell semen. HW and a ton of other bulls looked like S....T at stud also. I have been told the two best "lookin" bulls at stud are Walks Alone and Highliner and neither one is freezing worth a damn.

If I had to pick between these 2 bulls, I would have to go with Babe Ruth. Goretska gets his eyes on a- lot of cattle and for him to promote one, he would have to @ least look like he has a chance. That being said, I did not use either bull, nor do I plan on using either of them in the near furture. They will have to some good ones on the ground first. JMO.

saw a video of highliner, looked really course through his shoulder but has a ton of hair.  i think walks alone will probably be the best of this years class.

Between the two bulls I would definately lean towards Babe Ruth.  I thought we was more correct in his design and better balanced.  He was a little smaller and not quite as hairy but he was still one of my favorites in Denver....JMO.

Walks alone is by far the stoutest most powerful bull I have ever seen at his age. He has the whole package, great hair, & moves well. The only thing he did not have was height. Highliner is pretty close to walks alone, but he also has a bigger frame. But when they were at stud last spring I believe Highliner is also a few months older than walks alone. As for semen quality I have not heard if either of them are freezing well. Im interested to see how big Walks Alone is this year. Seems like all the new bulls I saw at hawkeye and nichols look like they will be very small framed. They are getting wider every year but seems like they are getting shorter every year. If you have some large 1500 lb or bigger cows I don't think you could go wrong with walks alone.

Highliner was not course shouldered, as a bull for his age and amongst his contemporaries I thought he was very complete and plenty sound. Personally I used Womanizer this year and am looking forward to his calves. As far as looking like junk in stud, I didnt think so. He may have not had as much hair and didnt have the feed he had been receiving as a display bull but he is now a working bull and needs to look like one. The folks at genex do a really good job of keeping bulls producing and dont over or under feed. Quality shows through hair and feed, you just have to know what you are talking about and looking for.

IMHO, the 2 bulls, Walks Alone & Highliner are like night & day. Completely different styles of bulls. Walks Alone is powerfully stout & thick, but it would be  a stretch to say he moves well & freely. He can't cover his tracks.

I don't know about Walks Alone, but Highliner is freezing good quality semen. @ Nichols Cryo Genetics
