Beet Pulp adding Top?

just read an article which said beet pulp will add top to a heifer.  never heard that before, just thought I would get your opinions.

Beet pulp will add "the appearance of top" by filling her up and making her look like she has more spring of rib than she really has.  This is only a temporary effect.  Filling them up on beet pulp at home means they will eat less of the more energy dense feed so use it accordingly.
 
Beet pulp is usually something you just use at shows. Yea first use it at home so your animal gets accustom to it. Its great to use as a filler at a show!
 
Any recommendations for adding top? I know it is more genetic than anything but my current heifer could use all the help she can get for her top.
