I posted some pictures of a calf I sold to a friend of ours awhile back, he got a clipping lesson and roughed him about 2 weeks ago here are the before and after pictures. Let me know what you think. He is out of a DR Who son and an Ali first calf heifer.

Unrelated to the clip job, but this calf really needs a hoof trimming. Not a bad job at all for a 1st time out clipping.

I knew that would be coming, hooves were trimmed last weekend.(and yes he needed it)

he looks like the calf in your avatar... and wow! he is a tank in that first picture really like his clip job to  (thumbsup)

It is the calf in my avatar. He has grown quite well. Best part he is dog gentle and never missed a meal.

That's a really nice steer and a great clip job for a first-timer.  I would, however, clip his tail shorter.  Typically, the tail is clipped so that it is level with the bottom of the brisket.  That is usually about level with the hocks.
