Just wondering if cattywampus and annygogleing are regional words too? RW

And you folks down south are always making fun of how us Canucks talk!
But not the ways and results of how Y'uns breed catlle and farm small grains and hops.

We use cattywampus on a regular basis...also wampus cats (florida panther) is a common term (and wampus is pronojunced wawmpus around here).  And of course, all word must have at least one extra syllable to accomodate the southern drawl.

translation roughly is ornery little jerk...

BTW.... Best bull is American Muscle!!!!! and any other asterisk free, non carrier, balanced, masculine bull not  selected for hair and bone! and has a BW under 80#....

I had an Ozarkian call me today and he defined BOOGERSMACK as something a little naughtier then Little jerk. but I sill like the word. Probably Joanns defination would be better

I enjoyed the versitility of ads in the july issue- I do think HUB's turned out pretty nice ;) Pretty simple message

Official Red Neck definition - (This applies to both words) - A somewhat straight line that kinda runs from here to there at an angle from what is considered normal to some folks. So yes it is kinda like kitty cornered.

Sorry, JIT,  I don't like the looks of that Major Leroy calf at all!!  In fact, he's so bad that I think you should send him to northern Iowa where he might look pretty good next to all the pitiful calves here at Oakbar.  Don't worry I won't charge you much to keep him and if, by some strange miracle, he  turns into something, I'd probably split the sale price with you!!

Oh, by the way, I have some oceanfront property for sale here in north Iowa as well.  It would make a really nice "Southern" vacation home for you and I won't charge extra for the wildlife(mosquitoes mostly).  The water's not very deep but it is thick and a beautiful "Algae" green color.  There's no sand beaches but the exotic flora(only the unknowing call them weeds) are several feet tall and grow right up to the edge of the water--in fact you usually can't tell where the water ends and the soil( hard to find muck and every color of clay known to man) begins.  Nearby, you can find Amish, exotic animal farms, dog breeders, and Iowegian neighbors for entertainment.    I'm pretty sure you won't find a place like this no matter how many miles you drive.  Just the other day a friend of mine told me he wished he had a place just like it to send his mother-in-law.

Don't procrastinate--neither of these offers will be open very long and you're not likely to get a better deal--particularly for that skinny little calf!!

Offered TFPIC(tongue firmly planted in cheek) this 16th day of July, 2010.

oakbar.. if you are half as good when you are talking with the Senators, Congress reps and regulators  in Washington DC in the next few days, you should come home with your " wish list" completely checked off. I am really tempted to take you up on your offer. I have to say that it is a most generous offer, however, I already have mosquitos ( so big they are breeding the Canada geese!), exotic flora ( weeds) and beautiful algae colored water. Other than that, your offer is pretty tempting. I will let you know.... but I would suggest you don't hold your breath with you are waiting for my reply

Yes, Ma'am. I am 39 yrs old, and, probably the last of a generation to use the expressions and dialect of the Ozark Highlands/Springfield Plateau. There are 9 years between myself and my youngest brother. He often stops me in the middle of a sentence with "???What???.....I don't understand". Sorry. I was born in 1970, halfway between Sedalia and Little Rock, before you could get meat and vegetables at Wal Mart, before Tyson bought Holly Farms, when JB Hunt trucks were still brown, if that tells you anything.

All kidding aside that Leroy calf looks flat awesome--hope I get to see him soon!!

If I were to change this little guy's mom, I would put more thickness and muscle in her. She arrived here after buying her sight unseen in a production sale where I purchased her for $2200. My first thought when I saw her was " Now how am I going to get out of this one!" as I was not real impressed with her. I decided to give her a fair chance and she had a white bull calf the first year. He sold for $3200 in our bull sale. Last year she had a heifer calf that will stay here as a replacement female. She is definitely in the top 25% of the bred heifers. This year she has this Leroy bull calf that is the best one she has had yet. I guess she is going to pay for herself. This guy has looked good from the moment I found him. I checked the cows early in the morning and went back through them 2 hours later, and he was standing by his mom sucking.

I'm assuming that he will will sydicated at 20,001 dollars...when is the sale?

We will see aj.... do you want to be the first in on him? The sale will be April 16th, 2011. Just remember you need a passport to get into Canada and more importantly to get back into the US.
