Best Fitting Tips for a Blow & Go Show?

I have seen many grooming tips for all types of shows, but not many for a blow and go.  Our state fair prohibits the use of adhesives and aerosols so I am looking for the best show day tips if anyone would care to share.  Thanks.

I don't have much experience with Blow and go shows but can you use any non Aerosol products for holding the hair?

Your not supposed to  We go to a LOT of blow & go shows in TX and everytime I've ever been checked they just wipe the side of the calf with a paper towel when you walk in to make sure no oils show up. If the rag is white your good to go.

You need to read the rules to know exactly what it says, ours allows anything that isn't paint or adhesive, oils are fine.

We fit for blow and gos the same as our lazy day fitting, which consists of sullivans white foam (don't buy the black, messy) or buy shaving cream (cheap barbasol regular).  Spray on any hair you want like the legs, tail head, rear quarter to give a little fix too, works like hair mouse.  Comb in the direction you want the hair to go, let dry.  Then all you have to do is blow out with blow dryer.  We finish the body with hair popper and blow and blow and blow.  Right before going into the ring we spray will pink oil.  I know alot of people us the shaving cream, but I like the spraying ability of the sullivans foam. I feel like I have more control where the foam goes.  We have won many a traditional show, fit only with foam.  No breaking down required. Yeah.

We do this alot at smaller shows and it works really well. We usually use shaving cream cause its cheaper and you can use a blower to spray the shaving cream on.

Save spray caps from glue and paint and you can find ones that will fit cheap shaving cream cans

After washing and drying, spray vinegar and water all over, comb through, and blow.

As well as setting hair, it also lifts scurf. Most people only ever "show and go" here. If you can get away with come oil, spray final bloom or pink oil, or you can make a mix of methylated spirits and baby oil which works just as well.

the rule book for this year hasn't been published yet, but from what I remember, it states no aerosols and no adhesives.  I am not sure if shaving cream qualifies as an aerosol, but I think it does.  I guess I could go back to the good ole barber shop days and lather the calf up with soap from a shaving cup.
