Alright everyone, I need opinions on the best whitener on the market. We have two Hereford females in need of some good baths. What is is the best whitener?

A few squirts of mrs Stewart's bluing in a bottle of non ultra joy. Scrub until the blue soap turns white, soap the whole body with whatever you usually use, scrub again, and rinse. Do this every day.

Best place to buy the Mrs. Stewarts?  I've never heard of it?

Any grocery store should have it. It may be in the clothes detergent section.

We had some mostly-white SH heifers last year that we just couldn't get clean & some really helpful Hereford folks at Tri-State told us to mix Sullivan's Bright Lights with joy dish soap - it really did the trick.

Do you have a Sally's beauty supply near you?  If not you can get it at the grocery but you'll pay more.  Buy a decent but not expensive brand of "So Silver" or other shampoo for silver hair, usually purple in color.  It strips all the yellowing agents and stain causing elements to leave hair not only clean, but it really pops color.

So question everyone.  If Joy soap and Bright Lights is working great, what about Oxi Clean liquid and bright lights mixed together?  Just a thought

Bingo. My fiance is a cosmetologist and this is what we have done. I know a lot of people use joy etc, but Kirk Stierwalt told me something one day I will never forget. His exact words were "Would you use joy/dawn in your hair?". I of course said no, and he proceed with "than thats a pretty good indication that you shouldn't use it on your show calves either".
