I have four places I would like to go see:
1. Milvale, we have bought three cows from him and I absolutely love them, I consider Bob a good friend but still haven't made it to his place.
2. Horseshoe Creek, I hope Ryan Huber didn't hype you up to much
3. Marellan in Australia
4. Shadybrook, just as much for the sight seeing around it as the cattle, I heard it was beautiful up there.

The best cow herd I think I have seen has to be Lucky Clover in California. Don has a bunch of really good cows. maybe not the top end like some places but every cow I saw was a good one and they all had picture perfect udders. Plus there is never a dull moment with Don around. The cows I had the most respect for had to be at Mantua. I went there before they dispersed so the herd looked significantly different then it dose now. If I tried to dump our cows out there they would turn around and get back on the trailer. When I went there they had big cows but they were all in great condition and there was hardly a blade of grass to be found. Another fun game that I got to play at Mantua was pick Heatseeker's mom out of the pen of recips. I lost the game and alot of respect for Heatseeker that day. Sorry Elbee and K-Kim don't make the list they are just to close. Kind of like you can't find a good herd bull unless you travel a few states away.

you're right garybob, long from hooks to pins too, nice topline, spread behind.  they have a VERY nice website.  video's too.  that judge looked at one of their heifers an awful long time.

Dustin's uncle owned Pistol Pete. They have a lot more shorhorns than the ones they bought from Ohlde. I've seen them all and they are great. He does a great job and is a great guy. Steinke's females can be found in the pedigrees of many of the top bulls in the Shorthorn breed today.

Yes, but the way I understand it is Keith Scott would let them come pick thru his cows that he was going to ship because they were open or getting to much age,etc. . They would pay him a little over market & everybody was happy.That's why he is out of an Improver 145 dtr., which was Keiths' main herdsire for many years. This is what I was told. :

I really like the cows that lucky springs farms (the Songers) have. That Canasta bull they have is incredible and we will be using him in the future. We use the KMS Maverick bull on our heifers and have not had a single issue. The calves are attractive and very vigorous.

Remember, Kevin Kimmerling really got going with ELBEE cows. And I believe he's got some really functional cattle now too.

Whenever we travel I enjoy looking at varying types of Shorthorn cattle. Even if they're not the type I would bring home. It's more the attitude of the people that make the trip worthwhile. Some I could care less if I ever visit again, and most I consider life long Friends.

Will, when you gonna come visit? I'll grill you up one of those horrible, certified Shorthorn steaks! ;D

I intend on getting out your way the first chance I get this fall.  We are really behind on getting hay put up right now.  Today was the first seven day forcast without a chance of rain we have had in almost two months.  We have lots of grass to bale(a great problem to have especially after the previous couple of years).  I map quested it and you are about 6 hours away.  Who else would you recomend visiting while in your area?
