Semen arrived in Brazil a few months ago. None progeny yet. Hope to see and inspect some calves next year.
JMO, but, why do we import genetics from mediocre animals? I am the first to admit that I have done the same thing! Semex has a fairly large selection of bulls on offer, and I think that with the CE, BW and $CEZ that this bull has, that there would be some better choices. Maybe the importer has specific goals he wants to achieve.
When you throw in the FT, REA and MB values, he would fall off the radar for me!
CSI, keep us posted on the progeny you see, it will be interesting to hear your opinion compared to say, JSF Gauge, Little Cedar Cabrera and Saskvalley Yesterday who are all 100% Shorthorn.

Duncraggan. Chaser was not my ask, Semex sent it as UNIQUE option. My first option - not the best one on my criteria for Brazil - was Cabrera.
Our problem is the price for sale here. as we have a charge difference of R$ 3,5 x 1 USD, only cheaper bulls have a market here.....also, as Shorthorn not gave a great sale offer, it's other problem. Exception for Yesterday that had a good acceptance and a work to promote it.
Agree with you that in many times mediocre bulls are offer here, it's a 40 years problem that makes the breed a poor breed here....too many poor and worst bulls offer.
Will keep you informed about progeny.
Yesterday show very good results here.
None one listed is 100% pure, at least after 6st generation back, as all show some infusion of Maine, Ayatollah (Illawarra blood) or Rodeo Drive (Holstein blood).
