OK, first this is not directed at anyone person so before I get a nasty PM let me make that very clear!  (argue)

After waking up at 1:30 this morning & not being able to go back to sleep I thought about how you get to know some people through the board. I think how they act reflects on their true personalities. For example those that show compassion or caring for others carry that trait. I know many Christians on here are truly that. negative or aggressive people here are probably like that in real life.
People like JIT who share their vast knowledge here are the same I'm sure w/ others. Those weird or funny ones, SD for example, are really like that in person! And of course Knabe is Knabe!!! I'm sure some of our younger members are fun to be around & always trying to learn.
I just think that after reading many posts from members you can get an idea how they really are!

I think I'm pretty much the same IRL as I am online..  .  When I post on here, I think all these names as the real people that you are - with feelings, knowledge, different personalities, etc... just like you'd be if I met you on the street or at a cattle show.

Also I'm sure that both TJ & Dori push their Lowlines whenever possible!  ;)
People that are helpful on the board probably go out of their way to help both the experienced shower & the inexperienced. I'm thinking of Justin Olson as an example.
I'm sure there are many more but I just wanted to touch on a few.

I couldnt agree with you more on this topic Red! I have yet to meet Dori and TJ. But they both seem like great people and are exactly what we need in the lowline breed  ;D cant wait to meet more people off of the board!!

as my screen name says I'm "justme"  nothing more nothing less...ok maybe a bit fluffier.  What you see is what you get.  I'm very passonate about my cattle, but am more passonate about my kids.  Everything I do is for them.

Thanks for the compliments, Matt.  One thing I'm 'not' good at is being who I'm not.  I pretty much answer most questions without a lot of "fluff" and that's exactly how I am in "real life".  Not really very "wordy" - something of a miracle for a woman!!   (lol) Sometime I used to get in trouble for saying what I think so now, as I've aged and mellowed, I temper my opinions somewhat or just don't give an opinion if I think it will really hurt feelings.  Also, I didn't start in Lowlines.  My first calves came waaay back "BC" (before children) when I used to buy 2 day old dairy calves and raise them up to about 300 lbs and sell them.  I had a nice little group of buyers who always bought them when they were ready.  Later, I worked for a Reg. Angus breeder and got hooked on that breed.  That was before so many of the cows got so crabby!  I did start in Lowlines by buying semen and using it on a couple of Angus cows.  Yes, I got VERY involved in all things "Lowline" even serving on the Board of the ALR for a term and running/planning/implementing the annual National Show and events in Denver for 2 years.  However, I don't think I've lost my appreciation for other breeds and have expanded my website to include other breeds for sale besides Lowlines.  I guess I'm just a died-in-the-wool cattle person and will stay involved in one way or another 'til I can't function any more!  Yep, I'm pretty much the same person 'in person' as I am here!!   Here I am with my best friends on my farm a couple of summers ago. Were seeing a huge movement in how we communicate. I'm glad you addressed this topic because its important for everyone to realize you can give off the wrong impression of yourself, that you really wouldn't want to. It's important to treat this like you would be talking to someone on the phone or in person. Just because you can't see the person your communicating with right now, doesn't mean you won't some where down the road. It's interesting how much you can learn about someone through their typing.

Most of the SP people I've met are pretty much the same on SP as they are in person.  I try to be the same way, maybe I'm a little more ornery in real life, but I have a college-boy reputation to uphold  ;D.

If you want to get a Lowline sold to you, talk to TJ, I think he could sell a one-legged dog to a horse trader.

If you live near Oakbar, I truly am sorry.....Just kidding!, but he does seem like a wiley ole Iowegian.

If you ever run into the nicest lady you've ever met while you're in Ohio, say hi to her for me, Red sure is a good'un.  Her and Gidget together is a hoot!

I've never not liked somebody I've met from SP, and I bet thats cause we're a bunch of good ole boys and girls.

Glad I got to see you again at Expo Justin.  Always a treat.

One person I really wanted to meet at Iowa Beef Expo was Showheifer...don't everyone act shocked lol.  I wanted to see what she was like in person. (thumbsup)

I need to get out and meet some of you folks.  Not much different from board to real life.  I graduated a few years ago with a CIS degree, got back into a family business, and helping my brother out with his cattle.  Built this website because I wanted a place where it was free to list your upcoming sale, show, or whatever.

Justin and TJ are the only ones that I have met and they are just like they are on here.  I would like to think that I am too, they may think differently!

You mean, we aren't like the Brad Paisley song, "I'm so much cooler online"!

OK, Gidget, you are not "Justme." (Boy I could have fun with this. Go ahead. Why thank you. No, Thank you)

Gidget is one super lady and a great judge of character. First time I met her, she immediately was asking my advice on Mucho. She just has a sense about who she can trust. (Not sure if it was working when she met Red :p).

Two great kids are a true reflection of their parents (Must be her husband's influence).
;) ;) :D <alien>

PS. I'm nothing like my online persona. I am the quiet, serious, good looking type. Well....good looking anyway. 8) <alien>

I have met a few people off here at different shows, one was even only about 7 miles away from me.  So far I think that the group of people on here must be the nicest group of people on Earth.  Havent met someone who wasn't willing to help out or give some advice.  Wether I want it or not.  ;)

Hmmm...... of the people that I know personally on this board I would say that most are pretty much as they appear here...........EXCEPT for MBAR - he is ...slightly more animated in person than he is here (is that politically correct or what?!!!!) RW

I've met a lot of nice people from SP in the last few months and they all seem like pretty darn good folks.  Well, maybe except for Justin Olson calling me a Wiley Ole Iowegian!!  You could have left out the middle part, Justin!!

Actually, I was surprised that none of the folks that I've met mentioned that I'm really much better looking and smarter than I sound on SP!!  I guess they just figured that I'd be embarrassed because I'm so darn humble!!

Seriously, good folks and, for the most part, much like they sound on SP!!
