All I will say is the Denver hair (and/or air/oil) can hide a lot of problems. Not going to trash him, because he could possibly be the next best sire as far as calves, but from what I've seen at stud, I sure would be a bit weary of using him.

I have seen him, it was before he was named, but back then he had huge hip and butt, and lots of lower quarter in him.

Being pushed for semen is different than not holding together. If the other bulls in there being pushed as hard or harder were in the same shape, I wouldn't have noticed it. However, someone might need to manage a little better either from knowing when to slow down collection, or the bull does have his problems. Sorry, but I'm not buying the being pushed hard for semen. We run bulls hard on the commercial side of things, and I have yet to see a bull fall apart like he did. Does this mean he won't produce the best, consistent calf crop to be recorded, no. What it does mean, is that people need to be willing to look at the bull outside the fluff and puff and match him to a cow that could strengthen his problems.

As I've said in the post before, they could be barn burners. I hope they are. Wish you the best of luck.

Saw him at Matt's in the fall and I thought he looked ok. A lot like u would expect by his pic and pedigree. Smaller than most, big boned, sound enough, not super thick, but decent muscled. Not sure what I missed, but he looked alright

When bulls are collected they shouldn't have alot of cover or fat.  More quality seman is produced by leaner animals.  just a scientific fact.  I realize that he wasn't looking his best at stud.  No bulls are looking their best at stud.  If they are they are not producing a good quantity of seman.  I have a feeling that the calves out of him will be great.  Just a feeling though.

All calves have been midgets out of Express Angus and Derouchey Maines. Something wrong with this bull.
