Boning Legs for Blow and Go Show

If unable to use adhesives, what is best product for boning legs for a blow and go show?  Looks like shaving cream or Sullivan's white foam may be it.  Anything else work from the old days?

buy 4 cans of white rain hair spray  spray it while you are blowing the legs works great

I am thinking hairspray would be an adhesive.  Work your leg hair at home and will have some body in a blow and go.

I thought maybe the old boys would have some tricks from pre-adhesive days.  Seems we used to use dixie peach hair dressing for tail heads and a glycerine bar or something on legs, but my recollection is that it didn't work all that great.  Probably because we hadn't done much with our calves besides get them broke to lead and clip 'em before fair.

On a hot day there was nothing worst than using saddle soap, seems like we used mixed up starch water some an don't remember how it worked but back then every body was using all kindes of different things .  You could use hair spray but put it in a spray bottle, don't use aresol can I think is one of the biggest no-no's

If you have a week before the show and a fair amount of hair you cam mix 1/4  infusium 23 leavein conditioner, 1/4 olive oil and 1/2 alcohol and spray it liberally on the leg hair, roto brush the tar out of it and blow the remaining material out - 2 ro 3 times a day every day. for show day mix 1/3 white rain, 1/3 accetone and 1/3 alcohol and blow, blow, blow until dry. Plastic fluffer combs are a must for both applications. Home made brew works! RW

Back in the days when I started fitting we were using saddle soap and wax. Not likely that you'll find a bar of wax these days, try a hair dresser for a jar of hair wax and experiment with it. It's going to take some time to know just how much is enough. I will work........keeps my unruly hair in place when I have to get it out from under a hat.

I was under the assumption that blow and go means-no leg hair pulled up?

Blow & go is pretty popular in Texas and it means just what it says....blow and go....anything other than that such as hair spray, oils, etc... you do it at your own risk and hope you don't get caught. Everybody uses their own "stuff" on their calves at blow & go's. Some people blow & go, and some are border line fitting. Just depends how close you wanna cut it

If you've done a relatively good job of working hair at home, use watered down hair gel with a spray bottle.  It works great, and isn't sticky like hair spray.

Thanks everyone.  Looks like different show rules allow different degrees of stuff.  There is a good range of products that can be used unless it is a "no fit" or "unfitted" show, which is true blow and go.  Some are tested with a white rag, but adhesive is OK, some are no adhesive or paint, etc.
